  • Electrical Appliance Cover, provided by Allianz Insurance plc (we, us, our), offers you the following protection:
  • Breakdown cover for your product following the expiry of the manufacturer’s guarantee
  • Accidental damage cover from day one for the duration of the policy
  • For example, a 5-year warranty will provide 5 years of accidental damage cover and 4 years of breakdown cover, in the case the product has a 1-year guarantee from the manufacturer
  • If the product breaks down outside of the manufacturer’s guarantee, or is damaged, we will provide a cash settlement for replacement
  • The policy is subject to terms and conditions as well as some exclusions and limitations applying: for example, cover will not apply to normal wear and tear of the appliance or damage caused by not following the manufacturer’s instructions

In principal this Insurance is great, however buyers should be aware that they should claim on the Product Warranty during its validity before resorting to a claim on this policy, since only one claim is entertained during its lifetime.
By claiming (should that be necessary) on the warranty first, a possible later claim is still possible under this insurance

I bought this when I purchased an LCD monitor for my PC. I thought that for the money I may as well as the monitor was an expensive enough piece of kit and for piece of mind this was a good idea.

Thankfully I haven't had to use it so have no idea what the customer service etc. is like. Fingers crossed I won't have to find out!

If you're looking for peace of mind for a good price then this is it!
