Format:Audio CD
Whilst this cd is not a patch on the ZZ Top of Eliminator and earlier, you've got to admire them for not churning out more of the same fuzzy dirty blues. These guys have always had their tongues firmly in their cheeks, and this record is no different. There are no ready made anthems here, but fans will find much to like. The groove is clearly present and correct on all of the tracks, the live cuts are stunning - hard to believe that there's only three of them. This cd is probably one of the hardest ZZ Top albums to find these days, so was suprised that it was available for less than a fiver, as hmv were asking for fifteen quid not so long ago. This is not the place to start your ZZ Top collection, (that's Tres Hombres), but is a welcome addition for collectors and completists alike.

I may only be young but ZZ Top have always been one of my favourite bands... since hearing Mescalero, I've gone back over and bought much of ZZ Top's stuff. Now this is an interesting little cracker I picked up today, isn't it? XXX is definitely not their best album but it's got a pretty tight-knit little groove to it that only ZZ Top could pull off record after record, and that's why it's great. Not because it's different or their finest works to date or anything like that but because it's consistent, the band's tight as ever and it's got a few butt-shakin' groovy tracks on it, and at the end of the day that's what we expect from ZZ Top, and they deliver every time.

It's freaked me & my kids out a bit reading these boring reviews about this brilliant cd!
It's ace!!
Play it loud - VERY LOUD & you'll hear just how good it is!
My 2 daughters used to ask for this when we were driving in the car so they could sing along to it.
It's got some great tunes & great noises on it!
Listen how low Billy's guitar goes on 'made into a movie'! Thats just not possible :-)
