Primal Scream blitzed the sleepy milennium cobwebs with this whopping great stew of lead-heavy left field rock. A dozen gloriously raucous walls of sound that clear your ears out & take them back to basics.

Primal Scream, officially the best rock 'n' roll band in the world, have produced yet another blistering album. But if you are expecting them to produce music similar to things they have released previously then you will be disappointed. XTRMNTR is nothing like any of their previous releases. It is an album of superlative riffs and pounding rock beats. A Chemical Brothers remix even features, such is the current mood of the Scream. Fans of Primal Scream and fans of cross-over music will certainly love this album, as will anyone who is partial to sweeping loops of rock music. A heavier version of "The Contino Sessions" by "Death In Vegas" springs to mind. Another extraordinary release from Primal Scream, which even sees Bobby Gillespe trying his hand at rapping. It is hard to say which Primal Scream album is the best, basically because they are all so different. But this one certainly comes very close.
