Ok, So me talking about how amazing this cooler is wouldn't help anyone. All I will say is that it is a fact that electronics last longer when they are kept cool. That being said there someone might overclock the hell out of a modern processor with a stock cooler, and have a perfect working computer for 10 years, but in my opinion I would rather spend £35 on some lump of metal that makes it last that little longer. Its a no brainer, you could easily spend £35 on a night out or a meal, or you could protect your computer and make it last a little longer. Make up your own mind.

Anyway I know most people would prefer to see the factual stuff, so here is all the factual boring stuff that might mean something important:

My PC Specs:
Fractal Design Define R3 Case(has 2x120mm fans included, I have not added any extras yet. but can add 5 more, so the temperatures have the potential to be lower than they are)
Intel i5 3570k Processor (Running at stock speeds @3.4ghz, will overclock once I buy a graphics card)
MSI Z77A GD55 Motherboard
Samsung 830 128GB SSD
Corsair Vengeance 8GB RAM
Xigmatek Aegir CPU Cooler
XFX XXX Edition 650W PSU

Things to note:

I use Realtemp 3.70 to find my CPU temperatures.

My room is about 20-25 degrees Celsius typically, so these are only accurate to +/- 5 degrees-ish.

I have the minimum CPU fan speed set to 35% and have my Bios set to keep CPU temperatures at 30 degrees. This is to reduce noise, which this cooler does produce, but at 100% fan speed it still isn't overpowering, but is noticeable. My case fans are running at 100% as they don't make any noticeable noise. I have to say even under load this cooler produces less noise than the stock Intel cooler.

I have had many Watercooled rigs, and since upgrading to an AMD FX-8120 Black Edition, decided to go air cooled for a change.

Started off with the Spire's Thermax Eclipse II but was not impressed.

Specs: thermax : idle - 43 °
Full Load - 62 °

Xigmatek idle - 29 °
Full Load - 48 °

I think that prettty much sums it up. Comes with bracket, which is pretty easy to fit, thermal paste, and 1 fan.

Does the Job almost as good as a radiator and water block!

I bought this to go in my new PC build to cool an Intel i7 2600k in an ASRock Z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3 motherboard, and it's a nice piece of kit - well constructed and great quality parts.

Temps wise, idle around 25C, full load about 50C - which seems a little higher than I expected reading some of the other reviews, but I suspect is due to my cr*p attempt at applying the thermal paste. You get a generous amount of it but I had to redo my first attempt as I put way too much, and there's still enough left in the tube if I need to do it a 3rd time.

It's also big - it was too tall to fit into my existing case so I had to upgrade and bought a Fractal Design Core 3000 tower, and it fits in that no problem. It also covers the fist memory slot on the ASRock, so make sure you check and install your RAM first. In fact, I'd recommend installing this cooler near the end of a build as, once it's in, there's not much room for attaching cables to headers, etc.

One final thing - the supplied fan is lit by 4 white LEDs which isn't mentioned in the description, so beware if you're one of those who likes to colour co-ordinate your system's innards!

When buying upgrades for my PC I often get let down when the upgrade is installed. Not this time. I was previously using Arctic Freezer Pro 7. Not sure it was installed correctly (suspect I used a little too much thermal paste) but was getting 43 degree C (idle) and 79 degree C (fully loaded using Prime95). Installed this and I have seen a great improvement. Temperatures now 26 degree C (idle) and 44 degree C (fully loaded using Prime95). Note of warning when installing. I found that due to its size there is little room in my case to install the CPU fan. I had to remove motherboard from case with heat sink still attached to give me enough room to attached the fan (which is tricky even with a lot of space). I have bought a second fan for the heat sink but due to the low temperatures I'm not sure I need it. Additional bonus over the Arctic Freezer Pro 7 was additional space for my RAM heat sinks which were tight against the CPU heat sink.

Important note: This is a tall heat sink so be sure to measure the space in your case.

System Spec:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 (965 BE)
Case: Antec 300

I bought this cooler for mt AMD 1090t as it was over heating whilst playing BF3. prior to buying this cooler I was using a zalman cooler only a few years old and thought it was doing quite a good job. When playng BF3 with the zalman cooler my PC was oc'd to 3.8 mhz and crashing regularly due to an over heated cpu running at 60 degrees and sometimes a little more. After fitting this cooler I was able to pump it up to 4.1 mhz and maybe further and achieve temps of 38 degrees under load during BF3 and what's more its also way quieter into the bargain! The only drawback is you will have to remove your motherboard to fit this cooler as you have to fit brackets on the back of it but it is worth it for the marvel of engineering. BRILLIANT!!
