Solid wax printing quality is astounding - like having top-quality embossed print runs. Superb for printing off hand-outs for workshops.
Very solid build quality, easy networking as a stand-alone network printer. Excellent drivers - works fine as a networked printer from linux (ubuntu) too.

Why the low score? The thing they don't tell you is that it has to be left switched on all the time - 24 hours a day, 365. If it's switched off, a huge amount of the ink blocks are used up in rewarming the solid ink, and cleaning the heads. Each time it's switched on, it prints 10 pages of cleaning and documentation, which can't be disabled. And you get the smell of warm wax from it being on.

So not something for your home. Otherwise, superb.

It has one major fault which is quite common in occurence and well documented on the internet. The ink sticks sometimes break up and the printer stops and send a default code to the control panel display. Because of the well documented design fault with the ink tray it's almost impossible to remove the wax from the machine. It costs as much to call out an engineer as it does to buy a new machine. In the 21st century this is design madness and Xerox should be shot for it.
