Top MP3 player,

Ive had a host of MP3 players from Oracom, Dyne, iRiver, Creative Labs, Archos and the Xen stands up very well to these. Sizewise at 70g its smaller than the bulky 256MB iRiver, and it looks fantastic - it keeps on being mistaken for a tiny mobile phone. The custom EQ modes and in-line recording are very impressive, and the in-built FM tuner and recorder are a notch above the usual. The joystick is a huge bonus for easy navigation, the inverse backlit LCD cool blue screen makes it stand out from the crowd, whilst the metal finish gives it a robustness which plastic-y cheap players lack. Overall its my favourite solid state player at the moment, I would highly recommend the Xen.

Cracking mp3/wma player,

This is a great little mp3 player. The unit is small, very robust and excellent value for money. I found no discernible difference between the audio quality of mp3 and wma files (wma files are about half the size), so have used Windows Media Player to transfer about 60 of my favourite CD tracks to the Xen. 120 tracks is more than I need to take on holiday!The Xen interface is easy to use and the presence of a voice recorder and an FM radio/recorder is a bonus. It comes with all the leads you need , as well as a plastic cover, batteries and a wrist strap. I'm not sure what the supplied software (Music Friend) does but if you have WMP running on XP, or a mp3 ripper, then you don't need it. I would definitely recommend buying this player.

The Xen is an amazing little piece of hardware. One of those things you buy that makes you go 'wow'. Incredibly small. Encased in a funky aluminium shell and with a cool reverse LCD screen that glows. As for the music side it is second to none. I bought this after iRiver broke and there is no comparison music wise. The Xen sounds so much better. I can get 10 albums on my Xen. Connects easily to XP and transferring music is so easy. Very highly recommended.
