Product Description

Use keyboard and mouse on the Xbox 360 with the Max Shooter 2 - ideal for First Person Shooters, strategy games and much more! Max Shooter is a unique adapter that allows you to use a keyboard and mouse on your Xbox 360. You will be able enjoy First Person Shooters (FPS), or any other game where targeting is important, the way they are meant to be played. With auto-fire, sensitivity dials, 95%+ compatibility with different mice and keyboard, compatibility with Playstation 2 controllers and loads more features, it's one of the most versatile 360 keyboard adapters out here. The Max Shooter 2 works by 'fooling' the Xbox 360 into thinking it's a normal controller. To do this, it initially needs a Wired Xbox 360 controller plugged in at the same time (please note a wireless pad and charging cable will not work).

4.0 out of 5 stars Better Control. 25 April 2009
Word to the wise, for this device to work, you MUST have a wired Xbox 360 controller. Wireless will not make it work as you need the USB connection of a wired one.

What can I say? I had moved from PC gaming to console in 2003. Upon the launch of the Xbox 360 I had gotten used to the control scheme of all shooters noticing they were all practically the same. In 2007 I played Far Cry on PC and was shocked at how much better shooters are with keyboard and mouse. Wanting to use them for a console, I stupidly tried to plug a keyboard and mouse into my 360 console. No good. In the end I forgot about it and made do with console controllers. In January 2009 I played Fallout 3 on PC after having played it on Xbox 360 and couldn't believe how much better it was with a mouse.

That's where this device comes in. It plugs directly into one of the two USB ports on the front of the console. Then you connect an Xbox 360 wired controller, wait for it to register it, and then remove that and put in your keyboard and mouse. It's really that easy. And hey presto, you're playing with keyboard and mouse in your living room, playing such games not available on PC (Halo 3, Gears of War 2 etc.)

Initially, it can be frustrating to get right as, with me anyway, there is a specific sequence to putting the keyboard in without it losing connectivity. The instructions that come with this are vague, only offering a diagram of what all buttons and switches do and a quick start guide, no troubleshooting or advanced set up. But when it does work, it's amazing. Once you've done it a couple of times, it's like clockwork. Bear in mind, you do have to go through the sequence of setting it up every time you switch the console on.

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
i bought this hoping to use it with my xbox 360 set up was easy at least programming the buttons was as for the sensitiveity settings not so easy but not impossible after three days of messing around with the settings i now can play all games like black opps battlefield bad company 2 far cry 2 with keyboard and mouse or xbox controller or dual shock 2 for the play station dont believe the idiots who say this does not work it does i did have issues with the mouse control on battlefield bad company 2 but once i realized my resolution setting had somehow turned itself down to 640/480 and changed it back to hd it works just fine for people who want to use their keyboard and mouse to play games on their xbox 360 its well worth the money .i have now been using this for about a month and my kill to death ratio has got about fifty percent better than with one of those cac handed xbox 360 controllers

5.0 out of 5 stars x box 360 max shooter 7 Nov 2010
for you gamers out there like me who dont like the x box controler and want to play with keyboard and mouse this peice of kit does the job.simple to set up,the default settings are pretty good ,but re-progaming it to your own preferences is not a problem, the only slight glitch is getting the mouse sensitivity right, but not a major problem, took about 5 mins.
just one point to remember is that cordless gear wont work with this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointment 15 Jun 2013

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
When I got this I was new to console controllers and hated using them, but still wanted to play the games my husband enjoyed so much. Thought this would be a great thing to use for an experienced PC used and keyboard and mouse lover.

Disappointed. It didn't recognoise my keyboard and was very awkward and annoying to set up. It hated me unplugging and replugging my keyboard back into it after every use and the switches on it never worked half of the time.

However, bright side to this product, it makes you learn to get used to the xbox controller and love it for consoles.. :P

1.0 out of 5 stars good idea though 2 Mar 2011
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I thought this an excellent idea, but sorry to say mine did not work, tried all ports but it would not connect to the wired controller, maybe mine was faulty, i cannot say because game train who I bought it off have not given me a replacement or even my money back yet and that was a month ago so be warned! Edit, got to say that max shooter got lost in the post! and game train gave me my money back straight away, so cannot fault game train in any way.
