With hundreds of great games, HD movies and music experiences, the Xbox 360 Elite console with a massive 120GB hard drive is the ultimate entertainment package. And with Sky TV, Facebook, Twitter and Last FM coming soon, Xbox 360 puts you at the centre of the most exciting games and entertainment experiences available.
Xbox 360 Elite Specifications
Xbox 360 Elite is a sleek, customisable gaming and entertainment system, which measures approximately 3.3 by 12.2 by 10.2 inches and weighs 7.7 lbs. It's powered by custom IBM PowerPC-based CPU with three symmetrical cores each running at 3.2 GHz. It also carries a custom ATI graphics processor 10 MB of embedded DRAM. This is powerful enough to draw 500 million triangles per second. In other words, it makes for great looking games in standard TV definition, and even better thanks to built-in support for HDTV 1080i televisions. It also supports the widescreen 16:9 format.
The unit has a 12x dual-layer DVD-ROM drive, which plays both the game media and progressive-scan DVD movies right out of the box. For game-save and media storage this console package includes a 120GB hard drive. Along with storing files, the hard drive will make the Xbox 360 backward-compatible with part of the existing Xbox game library.
Control your Gameplay
Xbox 360 uses a refined button layout for its controllers. Back and Start buttons sit at the center of the controller and between them is a new Xbox Guide button, which instantly takes the user to the Xbox 360 user interface. From there, they can check for friends online, access personal digital content like photos and songs, and more. The black and white buttons of the first Xbox controllers have been replaced with new shoulder buttons placed above the left and right triggers. Xbox 360 can accommodate up to four wireless controllers and has three USB 2.0 slots to use for wired controllers or for streaming your digital media from digital cameras, MP3 players, and any Windows XP-based PC. Microsoft has also created a video-conferencing camera, sold separately, that will work with the system.
The Media Experience
All Xbox 360 titles can be played in either standard or high-definition resolution in 16:9 widescreen, with anti-aliasing for smoother graphics. Game designers will be able to take advantage of the system's multi-channel surround sound. The Xbox 360's digital media allows users to supplement any game's music from tracks in their own personal library.
Go Live
A built-in Ethernet port allows users to connect their system to a broadband connection for access to the new Xbox Live Silver. The included service lets anyone create a Gamertag and gamer card to express your online identity, chat live with voice chat, and connect to the Xbox Live Marketplace to buy expansions, maps, and other digital items for your games. The subscription service Xbox Live Gold adds to that online competition, game stats, and video chat/messaging. The separately sold wireless adapter supports the common 802.11a, -b, and -g standards. HDMi cable sold separately.

Please be careful when buying your Xbox 360 Elite - this version is the latest Jasper board version. Technically I'm not sure what the difference is between this and the previous line of Elite consoles - from what I've been told, it uses less power, but you'll notice no difference in how it works, if you compare it to an older Elite model.
What you DON'T get however is any form of HD cable, which I find baffling. The Elite used to come packaged with a component HD cable AND a HDMI cable. This version however comes with a bog standard component cable, that is NOT HD (just the red, white and yellow outputs). And this version is no cheaper than the older Elite, which I believe you may still find on here for the same price. Basically, if you can check the box, this version is in the white box, the previous version in a grey box. The console itself is an excellent piece of kit. I've owned some form of Xbox 360 for the last 3 years and have never run out of games that I'd be keen to buy. I own it alongside a Wii, and do prefer the Xbox 360 for it's range of 1st class games, online play and HD graphics. The downside are the cost of accessories - for example, wireless networking adaptor, which is a standard featre on the Wii and PS3. However, the quality and breadth of the online experience certainly sets it apart. Issues are also made of the consoles reliability, but of the 3 Xbox 360's I've owned at one time or other, each played on average about 2-3 hours per day, I've never experienced a single fault (touch wood). All in all, check the available games before buying, but even for casual gamers, this is an impressive console and well worth the money.

Ok, First off, this is the new one with the jasper chipset and smaller "power brick" making this xbox allot less likely to "RROD" but i do not think that it is "immune".
This Was an amazing offer, The xbox Elite, and 2 NEW games (Left 4 Dead 2 (Xbox 360) and Brutal Legend (Xbox 360)) For only £189.99, that is amazingly good value. The only downside i would have to say is that you do NOT get a Hdmi cable with it and the cable you do get is only the standard definition composite cable and does not include the High Definition component cable as well, But seeing as i will be using my standard definition TV untill i get a new HDMI one, i dont find this a problem at all. So to round up, its a great xbox, great deal and the only downside i can see is that it only comes with a standard definition cable. So i say, Get one!

Ok to qualify that statement, i work at game and you simply wouldn't believe the amount of customers we USED to get complaining their 360's. As of late the volume has sharply decreased, we used to get about 4 a day in the one small store, but now its closer to 1 if any in a day. This is due to the new motherboards which have been put inside them. They used to have a fail rate of around 33% this is now down to 4%, which is still quite bad but was enough to coax me into buying one for the following reasons.
The library of games available to the xbox is fantastic and i will admit its better than the ps3's, it has many great exclusive titles that sony can't get their hands on eg. mass effect ,fable ,halo and gears to name a few of the biggest. But it also gets DLC often ahead of sony, e.g fallout(360) had dlc on the marketplace long before sony got it on the playsyation network. The online service is far superior and although you do need to pay a fee to use it, it is really worth it as the experience is far superior to the playstations online and in my uses seems less broken than the playstations network (PSN) i was able to find player to compete against on live. The use of the online services is the primary reason i would recommend an elite, as the xbox live requires memory capacity to save account details and profiles, the arcade has no memory space so the hdd with the elite is an essential for online gaming. Graphically its great admittedly its not as goos as the ps3 but is cheaper and it the difference is small, the online and game lbrary more than make up for it. It is backwards compatible with a lot of the original xbox games too. The controller is a good fit in the hand and with the larger, chunkier size, feels better and more naturla to hold. Also thanks to the new internal changes they are much quieter than the old ones were which in my opinion was much too loud. So overall if looking for a great GAMES console then the xbox is the one for you, everything is great about the new ones.
