Take the power and flexibility of a dedicated computer gaming system and combine it with the easy-to-use, instant-on format of a high-end console system and what do you get? Well, if you also add in DVD playback ability and broadband Internet connectivity, you get Xbox.
The advanced components inside Xbox make it the undisputed powerhouse among current game consoles. A 733 MHz Intel main processor and 233 MHz graphics processor from industry leader nVidia deliver photorealistic graphics in real time. A cavernous hard drive stores saved games and characters, making flimsy memory sticks obsolete. The built-in Ethernet port enables super-fast multi-player online gaming over a broadband Internet connection. Four game-controller ports allow you and three of your buddies to play at the same time, or you can use them for other peripherals such as gamepads, lightguns, voice-activated headsets and who knows what else?
But Xbox has more going for it than fancy innards. The Xbox's Windows-based operating system is a breeze to program on, earning it grateful accolades from Electronic Arts, Infogrames, THQ and other game producers. The less time developers spend struggling with the operating system means the more time they spend tweaking gameplay, which ultimately results in better games--and games are what it's all about. --Mike Fehlauer, Amazon.com

Is it really worth the hype?,
By Angela Frings (Nottingham, Nottinghamshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Xbox Console with Sega GT 2002, Jet Set Radio Future, Splinter Cell & FREE copy of Halo (Video Game)
In a word, yes! This package exceeds the standard x-box package by the price of one game, and for that you get two of the best exclusive games out there right now. I won't expound upon the x-box's qualities (everyone has heard by now) and besides, what makes this package great is the games bundle. Halo is an excellent first person shoot 'em up, which gives me sweaty palms whenever I play. It is a stunning blend of gameplay and graphics that gets the heart rateup to high to be medically safe! Run around space ships and alien worlds shooting all types of beasties, or just plain hiting them with your gun when your out of ammo and want to keep givin' out the pain! Seriously though, this game is about atmosphere. When your hiding behind a rock in the dark, it really does get scary! Splinter Cell is like a long milk tray advert! It is an excellent stealth game, which involves more thinking and hiding than shooting. You're Sam Fisher, who is basically a kick-ass special forces soldier with knobs on! So when you do have to shoot, if you choose the fight, you'll generally come off better (but make damn sure YOU choose the fight!). Another very atmospheric blend of gameplay and plain ol' scare-yourself-@#*$less. All in all this is an excellent package, a better price than the high street by far, and damn it, the games make it a buy over all the other consoles out there!

Proper Good!,
This review is from: Xbox Console with Sega GT 2002, Jet Set Radio Future, Splinter Cell & FREE copy of Halo (Video Game)
This deal is fandabydozy!Xbox console - So much better than its rivals; better graphics, hard disk (save game info and music to it!), an internet game service (Xbox Live!) which is coming to the UK next year, loads of great games!, up to 4 players per machine (if the controllers are to meaty for you, you can buy the 'S' [smaller] ones), and the satisfaction of knowing you have the largest console of the next-generation, literally (start knocking through the extension ;)) Halo - One of the best first person shooters ever made for any platform, including PC. You are a cyborg whos job is to destroy the alien life-forms on a newly discovered planet who threaten the existence of mankind. You can control lots of vehicles and use alien and human weaponary. Amazing levels and stunning AI make this game a must have (the sequel will be released next year [hopefully] so its a good idea to get the first one completed asap!) Splinter Cell - The latest game in the Tom Clancy franchise. You play Sam Fisher, a member of the Black Ops, sent in to investigate the disappearance of 2 CIA agents in Azerbaijan. Stealth is the key to this game, and you have to maximise the use of shadows and darkness, spy-ware and silenced weaponary. At your disposal are various cameras ("sticky" and fibre optics), a silenced pistol and multi-purpose rifle, a whole load of moves (including silent landing and doing the splits against two walls, and climbing up to the shadows of the ceiling). The enemy AI reacts to bodies and shadow movements, so be sure to hide the dead and turn out the lights! Jet Set Radio Future - A skating game set in the future, where the objective is to tag as many things as possible with your logo, like cars, walls, and people! Cell-shading is a realtively new graphical technique, where game objects are induvidually and boldly outlined, to give a cartoon feel. This does take a while to get used to, but it still is a great feature of the game! People who liked a certain skateboarders ;) game will love this Sega GT 2002 - This is a driving simulation game, comparable to GT3 on the PS2. They are both the definitive realistic driving game on their platforms. GT 2002 has incredible sounds, while in a race (provided you have a decent sound system ;)) you can hear the Doppler effect in all its glory (the neeeeeeooooowwwww of cars passing each other and the sound getting progressivly quieter/louder). The cars look stunning, and around 100 real-life cars have been moddled and given the most accurate handling possible. The gameplay involves winning races and money, and repairing your car (happens a lot) or buying new ones. There is an option to race in different eras, e.g. the 80s, and drive the different cars that were made in the period. Overall, an excellent buy. There is a very similiar (alright, its exactly the same one :P) deal at a well known store (where you write down a catalogue number, pay and wait at A/B/C/D for your goods), for £199.99, but you get a £20 voucher (so in affect its £179.99), but seen as its only about £6 cheaper, you'd probably spend about that much on petrol getting there and back! So buy it from here, and you dont even have to get out of your chair... )! All i have to do now is wait till xmas to play it, or find out where my mum has hidden it ;)

AMAZING!! What more can I say!,
This review is from: Xbox Console with Sega GT 2002, Jet Set Radio Future, Splinter Cell & FREE copy of Halo (Video Game)
Okay, first off it's the most powerful console ever made supported by the most successfull company ever created!!It's graphical capabilities are intense and really do put all the other consoles into shame. It comes with 4 amazing titles aswell!!. I will have to review the games individually so you know just what you are being BLESSED with. Jet Set Radio Future brings a splash of personality to the Xbox. Cel Shading is here in all its glory; delivered by a fast and funky game that will keep you coming back for just one more grind and tag. Get ready to stare in amazement as animated Tokyo comes to life in front of your eyes and the funky music carries you through the experience. Skate across various jaw dropping locations and tag, tag, tag! Sega GT 2002 has arrived!!! Finally, Xbox gamers don't have to envy PS2 owners for Gran Turismo 3. It's got the wide selection of cars (from Chevy to Mitsubishi), detailed setup options and, as you'd expect from a Sega game, some excellent handling. Just like GT3 you can spice and supe up your cars all you want, a great game which makes you pick it, put it in and GO GO GO. What can I say? Graphically Halo is miles ahead of any other console game released today. Sound wise again I have to say, I haven't really heard such a great range of voices, sound effects or Dolby 5.1 in any other game ever. Gameplay? I enjoyed every moment playing Halo and if you play all of the different difficulty levels then you are going to be treated to different endings. There are some minus points such as the frame rate dropping low, but this is a rare occurrence, and when you have such amazing graphics and massive fights going on against loads of aliens you can sometimes understand why there might be a strain even on such a powerful console. All i can say is if your looking for an Xbox, this game is a must have!! Lastly and not least Splinter Cell, this is the XBOX's answer to These are the 4 best games for the XBOX in one great bundle, and missing out on this WOULD be a crime. My opinion? BUY IT NOW!!
