Wireless N Wonder,

This review is from: Xbox 360 Wireless 'N' Network Adaptor (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
OK, so the main reason I bought this item was for my nephew for an christmas present but then I thought well why not just get myself one at the same time...
This product plugs into exactly the same port on the xbox console as the last Wireless adaptor, you do receive a driver disk with the package but if you already have the latest dashboard from microsoft then you dont need to install the driver as its already there!! My signal strength has doubled, as you would expect and it defintaely improves the speed as long as you have a Wireless N network. With the standard apaptor I could only stream Standard definition movies from Zune through the console but with the wireless N adpator I can now stream High definition films, clips etc. I do agree with the other 2 reviews, a bit pricey but if you can afford it, have a Wireless N network then I would definately recommend this product. If it had been slightly cheaper would have a got 5 stars

The 'N' W/less Network adaptor is a good piece of equipment, it is easy to use/setup and has good signal strength.
You are provided with a driver to install first so make sure that you install that before installing the hardware. Once the software is installed to your 360 you then simply dock the adaptor into the back of the 360 and plug the usb cable into the back (or front with no dock) and you're basically good to go. However i must say that this is over priced. This could be sold at a much more cost effective price for the average consumer. I guess what you are paying for is peace of mind and ease of getting online without having some techincal knowledge surrounding networking solutions on the 360. I looked into a possible alternative to getting online on the 360 using a technology called 'Power over Ethernet' however my laziness got the best of me and i decided to go for the 'N'...Psst! If you have the patience it might be worth looking into more cost effective solutions but if you really cant be bothered then you might aswell go for this. I would rate this wireless adaptor: Signal strength: 4/5 Speed: 3/5 Overall: 3/5

This review is from: Xbox 360 Wireless 'N' Network Adaptor (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
Before I purchased this product, I had the other Xbox Wireless adapter, which I got 1-2 (out of 4) bars of signal and often kept disconnecting from Xbox Live or the EA Servers. Now with this adapter I now achieve 4 (full) bars of signal and have yet to be disconnected from anything. Therefore in my opinion it is worth the money.
Bear in mind to take advantage of this adapter with 802.11n (draft) technology you will need a router that supports 802.11n (draft) aswell. I needed to buy the router aswell so all-in-all I paid £130 for the router and adapter. Which has drastically reduced my frustration levels (from disconnection) and significantly increased my signal strength and connection. Xbox 360 Wireless 'N' Network Adaptor (Xbox 360)
