If you order this then you know what to expect. I can confirm that this works just fine with Windows although you might need to download drivers.
Another reviewer said he had 2 of these things and the cable broke on both of them. I have had the same experience which is why I've just ordered a new one. I don't recall pulling the cable or anything like that so I assume it is a design flaw. As I said this does just what you would expect but be prepared to fork out for a replacement within 6 months.

This product is excellent for simple people like me who always forget to charge their batteries for their wireless controller. You just plug it into the USB of your 360 and it works like a wireless controller- only with a wire and no need to recharge.
The cord is also very long, so unless you want to play your game from the other side of your house, it doesn't impede gameplay. In fact, for people more used to wired controllers, it's better.
If you're having problems with your wireless controller- get this. It's the perfect substitute.

I brought this as a replacement for my broken wireless controller.
It's the best switch I've ever made this product is much better than the wireless controller for many reasons:
1.This controller doesn't eat up Batteries like the wireless controller.
2.They fit much better into the uses hand as you aren't restricted by the fat battery pack.
3.I brought a place and charge kit for my wireless conroller and I wore out and stopped charging after a month so I had to spend more money on a replacement which also wore out .
Much better than wireless and cheaper.

Xbox 360 Controller Review
Works very well. I do find the left analogue stick is a little rough at times. The overall movement is not smooth, but it is as sensitive as it needs to be.
