This is an outstanding series of books on the architecture of small but often rather pointless buildings. These are projects to stimulate the imagination and stretch what is possible.
The design and attention to detail for this book is incredible. A lot of these architecture books come with a load of photos from mismatched eras, multi-lingual but dismal text, and zero attention to design. These books are a refreshing contrast. The cover is aiming for a cork effect, a pleasant spin on the lime green and metallic effect of the others.
I am marking it down slightly because there is some repetition with other books in the series, though not enough to make it a waste of money. Also, in common with the others it is very much based on concepts from established architectural practices. There are no earthships, hen coops, or favelas in here. I rather like my eco-projects with some dirt under their fingernails. However eco is a broad church, and it is interesting to see what sort of spin conceptual architects can place on it.
Overall excellent value for money, these books certainly raise the game for books on design and architecture.
