I bought this item after seeing something in FHM magazine. I've been looking for speakers for my notebook and mp3 player for a bit. I read reviews and all was good, plus I like the look of it and a great price.
I ordered it midday on Sunday and it came on the Tuesday, so fantastic delivery. On first impressions it really does look goog, and it is really small. Much smaller than i imagined. I thought it would be a similar size to an apple, may be a touch smaller. It turns out that it's a lot smaller again. I would say a bit smaller than a plum. It's tiny! The sound is unbelievable. For the size you would expect anything from a rubbish sound to an ok sound, but it's incredible. Connects like normal headphone would (so suitable for most music players) and charges on the USB. Comes with a couple of extras, like the USB and line in cable. Also a strong bag, it will protect the speaker well and won't tear. Overall is a brilliant product and you highly recommended.

I was amazed with sound it produced I didnt notice the expandable body so was very happy with the sound as it is. But then noticed that this little devil can be opened up for extended base and it was very crisp and clear sound. Yes you cant expect a woofer base but for such a tiny thing the sound is quite good to compare I is sometimes better then the Macbook Pro built in speakers specially for speech related audio files but obviously you miss the stereo effect.
Very happy with the purchase for this price but thinking I could have gone for the X-Mini II speaker which has a bit better base and battery time of 11 hours. But never the less I am amazed as others to think how good the quality of the sound on these ones is looking at the size one thinks " huh what a joke and wait till you turn on the volume and be amazed". Here is a tip on a wooden table put the speaker upside down or try putting in inside a box or an empty container and see the sound doubling up. Amazing for my iPhone now we can go hiking and have more fun. Great job X-mini...

I love the sound in this and it's very portable. I've bought this for both me and friends and I use it at home and for taking it outside when the weather is good enough. It's great for bike rides since my headphones wouldn't fit under my helmet. I have a basket on the front of my bike to put it in but surely you can use a pocket or something for placement.
It would get 5/5 with me if it wasn't for the fact that after about a year, these speakers tend to end their life. It's happened to me twice now, but thankfully the warranty was still valid so I was able to get a new one instead. Maybe the X-mini II is the way to go? I might try that one next. Another problem for me is that the paint gets chipped off with time and underneath is white which doesn't look very great. So maybe get the white coloured one to prevent this? My recommendation is to keep it in the pouch that comes with it as much as possible (when not using the device, of course) for a longer lifetime.
