Best card i have had 21 Dec 2011
By jason
I brought a HD5770 about a year ago and where it was a sealed unit the unit was collecting hair a dust with out me knowing so eventually the card crashed and burnt out and hence the card was in the range of 70 to 90 degrees. XFX did offer to give me a 50% discount on my next card.

But for one I had opened the card to try and resolve the error (Destroyed my warranty).
and two I had already purchased this card.

This card operates for me around 50 degrees and I have never had a problem with it so far plus I check quite often for build up of hair and dust and there isn't that much that a cloth doesn't resolve, I never hear any noise from the 2 fans unless I crank it up but I never really need too.

The only downer about the product is that I had to buy the converter cable to turn the crappy port into a DVI or HDMI so that i could use the 3 screens

Well i own one of these cards already and have just purchased this second one so i can run crossfire, a single card will meet most normal gamers needs, and should play things like Call of Duty Black Ops and other DirectX 9 games with no issue, however to get good performance at high resolutions (1920x1080 up) i would recommend a second card or buy a straight out 6870x2 as Games like Battelfield Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3 also F1 2011 and AvP in DirectX 11 max/high settings and high resolutions will suffer on the FPS scale a little, unless backed by newer CPUs and RAM.

Currect system:
HD6870
Phenom x4 9950BlackEdition @ 3.0Ghz
4GB DDR2 1066
Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4 mobo

plays games well

New System will comprise of:
2 x HD6870
Intel i5 2500K
8GB G-Skill Ripjaw DDR3 1600
ASUS 1155 P8Z68-V PRO S/L
1000w PSU

This should play any game that is currently out with MAX/VERYHIGH settings without any issues

Good card decent over clocking and pretty quiet. 22 April 2012
By Philip Arcario - Published on Amazon.com
I grabbed this at another website came with a good code for dirt 3 a good price and a rebate offer. (still waiting for it but when I go to the site it show it in processing mode

I would give this 4.5 stars if I could. The double fan is not that quiet over 35% speed. I watch movies on blu ray and I stream more then I game.

I aim at very quiet pc builds that are great for htpc and decent for gaming. This card fits that category.

I get a 7.8 for my wei score on this card.
It can game on my 1080p sony tv very well, but when you go over 35% on the fan speed you hear the fans. If you game you need to run the fan around 45 to 55 % if you are running high settings. To be honest so far I have found it next to impossible to have a very quiet gaming machine that whales on high setting.

Powercolor hd7950 pcs + 3gb is close to it. You can set the fans on it quiet enough and get good FPS on high settings. Of course it is double the price of this card.

Back to this card it will allow you to watch clear movies in blu ray hd and stream really nicely. I used TRIXX a free program from sapphire to set the clock at 927 a 3% overclock. I set the fan to run at 20% until 55C then jump it up to 50%. The fan almost never turns up to 50% and the card stays under 45C with all use except gaming. Since this was for HTPC first and 85% and gaming second 15% this was a good compromise.

Great, quiet, fast, but no crossfire cable 26 July 2011

I am marking this review down by 1-star, only because this card does not come with a CrossFire Bridge cable. I had to order that separately and have read that they are usually included with AMD/ATI cards, whereas NVidia SLI bridge cables are generally included with your motherboard.

Other than that, the card is exactly what I was hoping for, performs great, stays cool and quiet! Also works great in a hackintosh 10.6.8.
