I purchased one of the X-Rocker pro Advanced 2011 chairs when they first came out on the market and initially was very pleased with it, however, after seven months it fell apart and here is how it happened. I should explain that I use it as a desk seat, not really for gaming purposes anymore, but it was originally purchased for that reason. I have NEVER rocked in it, even leaning back in it was tricky at times although it is balanced to accept this. It became necessary to unscrew both of the arms after I installed them so it would be comfortable to sit in, in short these were small niggling details which really did not worry me, then one day seven months after it was initially unpacked and assembled (easy assembly) the rod which connects the underside of the chair to the large base suddenly began to 'feel' loose and unresponsive.
One morning I sat down in it and the whole chair DROPPED an inch or more into it's base! Considering how much money it cost when I examined it I found the spot-weld's to be of such low quality that it is a wonder they lasted as long as they did. I made inquiries with the company who manufactured it and they wanted nothing whatsoever to do with the chair, instead they passed the buck off to the company I purchased it from whom in turn told me to contact the manufacturers ... with this obvious lack of interest (they had my money and now it was my problem) I took it on myself to seek out a professional welding service and had the base of the chair re-welded with strong welds.
Now, almost a year after I paid a sum of money to have that done the chair is still in service but it may become necessary to replace it again soon, in which case I'll definitely make my first point of call the same welding service to re-enforce it BEFORE I intend using it as in its unfixed state is can be considered a danger to life and limb I'm sorry to say - especially if the user is chunkier than the average person and let's be honest, some gamers are. The only other problem with the chair is the pseudo-leather which covers it. After about nine months the material began to crack and peel and now the part that the seat of my pants rests in is a mess of cracked and torn material, much of it curling at the edges. I may have to consider re-covering that myself unless I purchase a replacement seat. I rate it 4 out of 5 for comfort and ease of use. 1 out of 10 for construction.
