Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

For kids who can't get enough of the action-packed movie, Ted Conner's novelisation of X-Men 2 provides some kid-friendly background to the movie's characters and plotline.

This time around, the warring camps of the first movie--led by Magneto and Dr. Xavier, respectively--must team up to fend off a common foe: William Stryker and his shadowy government operatives, who plan to exterminate every mutant on earth. All the heroes and most of the villains of the original movie make appearances and young fans of the X-Men will love the big-screen debut of Nightcrawler, Iceman, Pyro, Colossus and a host of other super-powered characters in a plot that involves obligatory chases, fight scenes, double crosses and puffed-up comic-book oratory.

Of course, older kids will demand the grown-up adaptation, written by longtime X-Men comics writer Chris Claremont. It delivers far more in its 408 pages than these 156 large-type pages. Be warned, though, that the Claremont version has aspects appropriate only for grown-ups, from more swearing to (perhaps worse) sometimes tedious exposition. This book is aimed at children aged 9-12 years. --Paul Hughes, Amazon.com

Product Description

In this sequel to the 2000 box office hit, the mutants return to the silver screen to continue their quest to defend a world that hates and fears them. When villainous human William Stryker turns a sinister eye on Xavier’s operation after an attempt on the President’s life, it’s up to the X-Men to prevent him from invading their safe haven. And how does Magneto fit into all of this? Watch as the X-Men track down the mysterious Nightcrawler and more, in a battle to save Mutantkind! Includes eight pages of full-color photos.

Great for kids who don't have the patiance for mr. Claremont 26 Mar 2003
By Janet F. Greene - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
couldn't find the full version of the novel so I bought this one which is fine and does get most of the plot across but that is about it. At some points so much is left out that you have no clue why something happened let alone how. However if you have a 9-12 year old who loves X-men and can't wait to see the movie then this is pretty good because the Claremont one (which I am reading now) Has too much cursing and is way too detailed for most people under 17. So I guess for this books audience it is above par.
