Ok, so I'll start with the synopsis first.
After years spent in total anonymity former FBI Special Agents Mulder and Scully are revisited by former boss - now FBI Deputy Director Skinner. Skinner brings news that the FBI Database has been compromised with someone/thing accessing information on the old X-Files department. This precedes an attack on Skinner, returning Agents John Doggett and Monica Reyes, and Scully - the latter who finds herself been pursued by a group of robed figures named 'The Acolytes'. She is aided in her escape by another mystery figure calling himself The Deacon.
That's the basic gist of 'Believers' - the five part story that reintroduces the world of The X Files.

Old favourites make a return during the course of the 5 chapters that make up Volume 1 and it really does feel like the TV show. The artwork works and the stories consist of the same level of ambiguity and complexity that we came to appreciate with the series back in the day. All I would say to readers is don't expect a nicely wrapped story where all is explained by the conclusion - quite the opposite in fact! You will leave this book with more questions than you had going into it at Page 1 - in fact each chapter brings increasing levels of complexity.

I love Season 10 and in the absence of any further televised adventures this is a worthy replacement. I hope it continues for some time to come..

This is absolutely fantastic! As a major X-Files fan (fantastic!) I adored this beginning of Season 10. The tv show ran for 9 seasons ending in 2002 and chronologically this first volume of season 10 takes place 10 years later picking up with a plausible storyline. I'm not going to give any details but everything comes together to continue the main plot of the series with the aliens and conspiracy themes. Great joy also as so many familiar faces return to the pages and people who were supposedly "dead" are back in action. I can't hold my tongue on one as it is so exciting. SPOlLER ALERT. We are presented with return of duh duh duh .... The Lone Gunmen. Yipee. Love, love, loved this book.

Meh, the artwork is nowhere near as bad as the one in volume 2 but it's not great either. The story is quite good but the writing is mediocre. I wasn't expecting much, as X-F by-products such as novels and comics all pretty much sucks. This was just a bit better, but not by much. There are a few X-Files fanfictions out there that are a hundred times better written than this drivel.

Downloaded this book to find that it was a comic. Didn't bother to try and strain my eyes to read it. Returned the comic for a refund. Make sure you read the small print, it's not obvious. Other than that, Kindle books is a fantastic idea.
