Product Description

A secret invasion tie-in! X-Factor is in pursuit of Darwin, whose father is looking for him. She-Hulk and Jazinda are in pursuit of Longshot, who may hold the key to defeating the Skrull invasion. With Darwin and Longshot on the run, neither of them wanting to be found, you'd just assume that X-Factor and She-Hulk will work together smoothly to accomplish both their goals. But what fun would that be? This title collects "X-Factor", numbered 33-38 and "She-Hulk", numbered 31.

Throw in a major crossover and you have a mixed bag and no real direction. Only his superior writing skills stop this from being awful.
The art is mixed too, she hulk artist (whatever his/her name is) is excellent, X-factor artist Larry Stroman is just awful, how he gets work I do not know. This is far from an essential purchase I'm afraid.

2.0 out of 5 stars The only flawed book in a great series! 10 Feb 2010
By Ryan - Published on
I think this suffers mostly from Marvel pushing Bendis' "event-that-has-been-building-since-Avengers-Number-500" that they push every year. Right now it's "Siege", a terrible knock off of Civil War where the first issue culminates in Captain America shaking in his boots after Thor gets beat up by a poor man's Iron Man and the poor man's Fantastic Four, but I digress...

This book, as far as the actual writing goes, isn't so bad, and with the great return of Longshot within its pages (who, it seems, will be leaving after "The Invisible Womn Has Vanished" arc, probably because of Matt Fraction's tears in Uncanny X-Men, and what a catastrophe that book is), the team gets a facelift a little. Sadly since it crosses over with the She-Hulk book (also by Peter David at the time), and the choice of an old X-Force artist, it loses lots of ground when the Invasion gets involved. While I enjoy the art, it doesn't fit with the established style that X-Factor has had since the Madrox limited series days.

You do have some neat fights, but that's about the extent of greatness in this book. if you mostly ignore the distracting art (an effort), you will cross this volume, the sole tarnish on this gem of a series, the best "X-Book" that Marvel has to offer.
