5.0 out of 5 stars Excelleny, Suberb and very funny. 2 Dec 2000
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
At my local youth theater group we are in the midst of rehersing Wyrd Sisters, which we will be doing on tape, voice only. I play Granny Weatherwax. As soon as I heard the group would be doing the play I jumped at the chance to audition. I'm a terry Pratchet fanatic and I thought the way Stephen Briggs adapted it to a play is excellent. I'd reccomend this read tottaly, its hilarious.

3.0 out of 5 stars A challenging production 11 Jun 2009
By Gerob
Format:Paperback
A rough and ready conversion of Terry Pratchett's excellent book into a stage play.

Reviewers of past productions of this play usually conclude that the Discworld enthusiast understands what is going on, but almost no-one else does. So great attention to detail required if you want to perform this play. Do NOT attempt to do without scenery as the playwright suggests.

The performing licence is very strict about changes to the text, but with permission you can omit scenes, or add new ones from the original book.

A meaty challenge for any budding stage director.

4.0 out of 5 stars Weird, but good. 10 Jun 2013
By Maine Mom - Published on Amazon.com

We produced this play at our theater and had a good run. Although US audiences don't quite get the British humor, it's still fairly accessible. I laughed reading it, so I thought it was a safe bet. There are references to many facets of life, literature and so forth, so there's something for most people to get a kick out of. Very punny.
4.0 out of 5 stars Love Terry Pratchett, Not Sure It's a Workable Script 17 May 2013

This is a bare-bones script where the adapter encourages you to tweak the story to make it your own. He's taken all of the parts of the story that create action and left out the parts that set the scene. I'm a literary manager for a theatre company and I love the idea of doing Terry Pratchett on stage, but this is just a starting place. You would have to tweak it for your own purposes, and to do so, you would have to get the author's permission. For me, it's worth the effort. You have to decide if it's worth that effort for you.
