If you grew up with the original 3 concertos that Wynton played.. then you need to accept that in this version he plays the Haydn slower and the cadenza is with more musicality than the original..slower but in my opinion more interesting. Nice to hear the Hummel in E major rather than the more normal Eb version ( cover photo is of a Shilke E trumpet ). The bonus tracks are nice to hear - majority from the "Baroque Trumpet" record (opps - showing when I bought the orignial !). I'm not sure that I particuarly like the recording engineering of the Brandenburg - sounds like WM was placed off stage and was blended down to try to fit in with the oboe and strings - I'd Prefer to hear William Spencer (Spencer UK Trumpets) play this - well worth trying to hear this live . Worth spending less than a average bottle of wine on this CD than the original version of Wyntons record...sorry CD.
