I have one of these rods and it is a great performer. I'd say it was a good rod for the money, which is true, but it is a good rod, full stop.
I've been using it for carp fishing on commercials where I've caught lots of fish in the 6-10lb range and this rod has bags of power to handle the bigger fish while still being delicate enough to make playing the smaller fish interesting. It would also be a good float rod for tench, chub or big bream as well as a great leger rod.
The tip is pretty sensitive and picks up bites from bream, as well as the classic thump of a carp on a pick-up-and-go run.
I've also used it on the buzzer and it works well as a lighter equivalent of a standard carp rod, although I have no doubt that it would manage a fish of up to 20lb without too many scary moments.
It balances brilliantly with the Wychwood Signature FS 50 reel too and, with 8lb line, I will be heading off after barbel come June 16th.
I'm seriously thinking about getting a second one of these.
