Rating is 4-star overal (3 for engineering, 4 for content, 5 for value).
This is not the same high quality as seen with Ken Burn's The War, or the History Channel series. It is more akin to older (1943-1951) The Flag Waves On/Crusade in the Pacific and Frank Capra's Why We Fight. I like all the aforementioned. Disk navigation is faulty but with perseverence all tracks can be accessed. I've seen this on 2 different Battlefront sets, on 2 different players; it's possible that some premium players may have better error correction and may navigate flawlessly.
Given these deficiencies, Battlefront is a budget series and can be purchased new for $5-20 in the tin box. It is and interesting addition/reinforcement to your war documentary series, and is an outstanding value if you can obtain it for < $7. I am curious if the $20 versions have better quality, but I'll tolerate my set and enjoy a few more Big Macs.
