4.0 out of 5 stars In Your House - 15 A Cold Day In Hell 8 Mar 2003
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
This is a good quality wwf pay-per view and is worth the money. There is a smashing title match between the Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin plus solid contests including Flash Funk versus HHH and ironicly Jesse James verus Rockabilly on the free for all. Buy it for the strong matchups and presence of the Hart foundation at ringside for the title match. It's a classis dose of good ol' 97.

This is a great event for the WWF. It includes one of the best event which pit the two of the biggest stars of all time in the wrestling industry Austin vs. The Undertaker. Also we see HHH take on Terry 'Flash' Funk.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Cold Day In Hell 30 Dec 2009
By Jose - Published on Amazon.com
Format:VHS Tape
Another internet source allowed me to relive another WWF event. In Your House events were typically fun to watch as they were only two hour shows that really focused more on wrestling than anything else. This event was centered around The Undertaker defending the WWF Championship against Stone Cold Steve Austin with the catch being that the Hart Foundation would be at ringside during this match.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs Flash Funk. I think that most wrestling fans can agree that Flash Funk (who was really 2 Cold Scorpio in ECW) was one of the most underrated performers to grace a wrestling ring & this match showed pieces of that statement being true. Both men worked well together in what was a pretty good opener with Funk using his high-flying style to Hunter trying to ground Funk along with Chyna becoming a factor as she always did at the time.

Mankind vs Rocky Maivia. They would go on to have better matches about a year & a half after as this as Rocky was still the rookie at this point but did enough to hold his own here against Mankind but this was really just an average encounter but one thing to pay attention to is the continuation of the fans just not accepting the "Rocky Maivia" character.

Gauntlet Match: Ahmed Johnson vs The Nation of Domination. This was during the point that the feud between Ahmed & The Nation had just gone on too far to this point as the stipulations here were that Ahmed had to wrestle Crush, Savio Vega & Faarooq (who all seemed to be "injured") & if he won, the Nation would disband. There was also a funny side story to this match in that each member of the Nation came in with some sort of injury like Faarooq still being injured from WrestleMania, Savio with a bad ankle & Crush with the flu. This match was also average but I will give it credit in that the story was well told of how Ahmed was worn down against Crush, the underrated Vega went in against Ahmed & soften him up some more before Faarooq was able to just pick up the pieces in the end.

No Holds Barred: Ken Shamrock vs Vader. This was regarded as a shoot fight as the rules to this match was that the only way to win was by submission or knockout. It was a much more unique performance than what you expected from both men as this was one of the stiffest matches that I have seen in the WWF with Vader using his power & brute force not to mention "stiff" punching power while Shamrock reserted to his submission offense that actually lead to him debuting the anklelock submission hold & even at one point breaking Vader's nose into four places with a spinning elbow. A unique but great match that had a mix of wrestling & MMA all into one.

WWF Champion The Undertaker vs Stone Cold Steve Austin. This was their first major singles match together but this time, they would not be alone as the Hart Foundation were sitting at ringside & even got involved during the match that lead to some hilarious moments like Austin pulling Owen over the railing to beat him up before Taker punched Owen back into his seat, Austin giving the double bird to Bret Hart & even at one point where Austin low-blowed Taker & flipped off Earl Hebner before they turned back & did the same to him. As for the match itself, it was one of their better wrestling matches as both men targeted each other's legs & resorted to some offense that they never used before such as Taker doing a reverse ax-kick at one point. They would go on to top this match in the future but this was still a great main event to check out.

Overall, this was an enjoyable show with the memorable moments here being the Shamrock/Vader & Taker/Austin matches but with the Austin/Taker match already being released on DVD, this is one I would get cheap or see online.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why isnt this on American vcrs? 26 July 2006
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:VHS Tape
I had to buy this off ebay and it didnt even play on American vcrs. You have to get your vcr converted if you want to watch this.If not it wont play on an regular made American vcr.So I got it converted and it cost a lot of money but anyway heres my review on In Your House 15;A Cold Day in Hell.

HHH w/Chyna defeated Flash Funk(Pretty good match even though HHH may not have won if not for his bodyguard Chyna).

Mankind defeated Rocky Mavia via submission to the mandible claw.(A good match, even though I didnt expect Rocky Mavia aka The Rock to win because he was a rookie back then.Mankind won which wasnt unexpected).

Ahmed Johnson vs The Nation of Domination-Ahmed Johnson has to wrestle against all three members of the Nation Crush,Savio Vega and Faarooq. If Ahmed wins all three matches then the Nation of Domination will be forced to disband.

Ahmed Johnson defeated Crush

Ahmed Johnson defeated Savio Vega by disqualification(Savio Vega gets his self disqualified by using weapons on Ahmed Johnson therefore Ahmed winning the match by dq).

Faarooq defeated Ahmed Johnson(Since Faarooq won the Nation of Domination doesnt have to disband and is still an group).

Submission Match;

Ken Shamrock defeated Vader via submission to the ankle lock.(A good match and this is Shamrocks first WWF p.p.v match).

WWF Title Match;

The Undertaker defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin to retain the WWF Title.(The Hart Foundation were at ringside for the match.Brian Pillman then costs Austin the match when Austin covers The Undertaker for the win and Brian Pillman rings the bell. Then The Undertaker gets an tombstone piledriver on Austin for the win. After that The Hart Foundation come in the ring and beat up on the Undertaker and Stone Cold goes outside the ring and beats up on Bret Hart who was in an wheelchair. Then Austin goes in the ring and stunners The Undertaker and chases the Hart Foundation away as the p.p.v goes off the air).

Here I am with another review for an old WWF Pay Per View. I have been doing these since November 2011I started with
NWA-WCW Pay Per Views I reviewed The Pay Per Views from 1988 to 1994 I can say that The NWA-WCW 1989-1994 was 1 of my favorite eras as well as The WWF-WWE 1997-2005. If you are new to my retro wrestling reviews then I do enjoy telling the backstory leading into some of the matches & I do use the star rating system like most of the marks do & I try my best. So if you liked this time peroid in Professional Wrestling like I do or were too young to experience The WWE pre PG or just randomly came across this or any of my reviews then I here I go with my review for In Your House A Cold Day In
H e l l. So what has happened since Revenge Of The Undertaker on The April 21st episode of RAW IS WAR Stone Cold Steve Austin was named The Number 1 Contender for The WWF Championship. Austin didn't care at this moment he wanted Bret Hart in a Street Fight Bret appeared on The Titan Tron & accepted. Austin tried to bust open into Bret's locker room. So when the match was ready to take place Bret stalled Austin when he came out Owen Hart & The British Bulldog came through the crowd & attacked Austin then Shawn Michaels came through the crowd with a chair & chased Owen Hart & The Bulldog to the back. That left Stone Cold & Bret Hart Austin wet after Bret's leg & just tortured his knee he put him in The Sharpshooter & wouldn't let go even when official's tried to pull him off eventually he let go. Bret was being taken away by Ambulance. Austin was in the driver's seat he beat up Bret Hart & was pulled off by Owen Hart & The British Bulldog. Stone Cold came out & cut a promo where he said that The Undertaker is in for the coldest day in h e l l of his life. Owen Hart & The British Bulldog attacked Austin Shawn Michaels came out through the crowd chased Owen & The Bulldog off. As Austin got up Brian Pillman returned & hit Austin with a chair & flipped him off. The following week on RAW IS WAR we found out where Bret Hart had surgery for his knee. Brian Pillman cut a promo he said he is a deeply religous man. Austin came out to go after Pillman when he got in the ring Owen Hart & The British Bulldog were ready to jump him Austin knew it was a trap he went to the back got an axe handle. You had Owen Hart, The British Bulldog & Brian Pillman praying in the ring for Bret to make a speedy recovery Austin came back out & chased them off. Later on that night The Undertaker took on The British Bulldog Owen Hart interfered & they double teamed The Undertaker Austin came out & made the sve but then hit The Undertaker with a Stunner. Austin flipped off The Undertaker. The Undertaker then grabbed him by the throat & Chokeslammed Austin. Then Austin decided to go after Bret Hart who was all alone on the ramp in a wheelchair. Out of nowhere Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart attacked Austin Bret took 1 of his crutches hit Autin in the back with it & he fell off the stage. They showed where Austin got up off the streatcher & left on his own will. The following week on RAW IS WAR The Hart Foundation decided to go after Shawn Michaels who cut a promo announcing that he will return to the ring at King Of The Ring. Bret Hart appeared on The Titan Tron & made him face Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart but he also had Owen & The Bulldog join him & they beat down Shawn Michaels. The Road Warriors made the save. Backstage Shawn went after The Hart Foundation Austin showed up & went after them. The WWF title belt was stolen & Undertaker said whoever stole it is playing with their life. Stone Cold beat The British Bulldog & he was attacked by The Hart Foundation then The Road Warriors came out Doug Funas & Phillip LaFon joined in then Michaels joined in. Owen Hart hit Stone Cold with The WWF Championship belt & of course The Undertaker came out the faces ran The Hart Foundation off. Austin & The Undertaker started brawling to close the show. Another piece of news leading into this show was that on The April 28th episode of RAW IS WAR Owen Hart defeated Rocky Miavia for The WWF Intercontinental Championship. On The Aoril 28th episode of RAW IS WAR Jim Ross interviewed Vader & Vader started threating Jim Ross Ken Shamrock came out & made the save he told Vader that at In Your House you will be serving hard time. That is pretty much the backstory leading into this event. The buyrate was a 0.57 that is up from Beware Of Dog which got a 0.45

The current champions at the time were
WWF Champion The Undertaker March 23rd 1997
WWF Intercontinental Champion Owen Hart April 28th 1997
WWF Tag Team Champions Owen Hart & The British Bulldog September 22nd 1996
WWF European Champion British Bulldog February 26th 1997 match aired March 3rd 1997

a really good video package for Ken Shamrock is shown.
Jim Ross & Jerry "The King" Lawler talk to Ken Shamrock who is attacked by Vader & Mankind.
Rockabilly with The Honky Tonk Man Def Jesse James *
When Jesse James came out & sung his theme there were audio problems. They cut to Todd Pettingill who said that Ken Shamrock is uneffected & he is in his zone.
Jim Ross & Jerry "The King" Lawler talked to The Hart Foundation Bret said they got some tickets off some scalpers & they will be front row tonight.
Sunny came out some fans shot her with Silly String a fun segment.
The Nation Of Domination came out Faarooq said that it was Ahmed's lucky day cause he caught them on 1 of their worst days cause Crush has the flu, Savio Vega has a sprained ankle & his shoulder is still hurt. He wants the match to be a 3 on 1 Handicap Match instead of a Gauntlet Match. Ahmed Johnson accepted. A great video package is shown for The Austin vs Undertaker match.
Todd Pettingill interviewed Stone Cold Steve Austin who said that he isn't afraid of the dark & he wasn't afraid to die. The lights went out Undertaker appeared on The Titan Tron he said that it will be a cold day in
h e l l before you ever become The WWF Champion & that is the bottom line.

Then we get to the opening which was really good.
Hunter Hearst Hemsley with Chyna Def Flash Funk * & half stars average match
Jim Ross & Jerry "The King" Lawler talked to Ken Shamrock he was asked about the attack from earlier. Shamrock said he is focused & he is in his zone.
Mankind Def Rocky Miavia ** in an ok match.
Gauntlet Match
The Nation Of Domination Faarooq Savio Vega & Crush Def Ahmed Johnson * & 3 quarters of a star
Gorilla Monsoon came out & made the match a Gauntlet Match again. Ahmed defeated Crush Savio was disqualified for using a chair Savio hit Ahmed Johnson repeatidly with the chair. Faarooq pinned Ahmed Johnson. Had Ahmed Johnson won The Nation Of Domination would've had to disband.
Todd Pettingill interviewed Big Van Vader he said that he was just playing with the boy he was just playing with Shamrock's mind he said that ABC says he is the world's most dangerous man they said nothing about The World Wrestling Federation. He ended by saying Ken Shamrock knows nothing about about Vader's pain game.

No pinfalls can only win by knockout or submission
Ken Shamrock Def Big Van Vader by submission ** & 3 quarters of a star a more than decent match. Ken Shamrock's music he entered with is awful it's some kind of generic rock track.
Todd Pettingill interviewed Stone Cold Steve Austin who said he didn't care if The Hart Foundation are going to sit front row it just means they will be closer to me & that he's going to send them all the way back to Calgary in wheelchairs.
WWF Championship
Champion The Undertaker Def Stone Cold Steve Austin **** & quarter of a star
Austin hit The Stunner & went for the pin Brian Pillman rang the bell. The match continued & The Undertaker hit The Tombstone Piledriver ftw. The Hart Foundation attacked The Undertaker. Austin went into the crowd & dumped Bret Hart out of his wheelchair took a crutch Austin & The Undertaker ran The Hart Foundation off. But then Stone Cole hit Undertaker with The Stunner. Austin went up the ramp after The Hart Foundation. The Undertaker went up the ramp.

This show was basically a throwaway show a so so undercard Triple H & 2 Cold Scorpio was an average match. Rocky Miavia vs Mankind was ok but they would have better matches in late 98 early 99. The Gauntlet Match was ok. A more than decent match with Ken Shamrock going over Vader. The WWF Championship match with The Undertaker going over Austin was great so overall a decent Pay Per View. Don't pay full price try & find this show online or find a seller that sells old Pay Per Views. Next Pay Per View will be The 1997 King Of The Ring. I look forward to talking about the summer of 1997 in general.
