3.0 out of 5 stars The Brothers...And Father...Of Destruction Go To Hell 10 Oct 2010
By D.P. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
Submissions Count Anywhere Match: United States Champion Daniel Bryan vs. John Morrison vs. The Miz - For those who didn't see the previous time they did this match (DX vs. Legacy at Breaking Point '09), it's the same as a falls count anywhere match except you can only win by submission. Bryan showed himself to be the submission expert early by working work both Miz & Morrison's legs & later performing a "cattle mutaliation" on Miz. Morrison showed himself to have a few tricks under his sleep with performing Tajiri's old "Tarantula" move on Miz, executing a corkscrew sleep on both Miz & Bryan, and even using Charlie Hass' old "Hass Of Pain" submission hold. The fight spilled out of the ring with Miz taking advantage of his surroundings like attempting a dragon sleeper using a railing for leverage, using a stage box on Bryan, and delievering the Skull Crushing Finale on the concrete floor. Morrison showcased his "parcor" style offense such as being able to climb the stage & perform a dive off the stage before doing into Dean Malenko's playbook with the Texas Cloverleaf. Miz's associate Alex Riley did appear to save him at one point before being disposed off & taking a cameraman out with him before Daniel Bryan was able to do get the victory to make his biggest critic in Michael Cole finally admit "Daniel Bryan is the real deal." This was the best match of the night for me.

Hell In A Cell Match: WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Sheamus - With their previous matches (Royal Rumble & SummerSlam) not having a clear winner due to disqualifications, this final encounter would happen in the Cell. The match got taken to the outside early with Orton being able to avoid Sheamus' attempt into using steel steps then ramming his back into the cell twice & using the steps on Sheamus himself before Orton ended up feeling the cell himself with Sheamus delievering a shoulderblock that knocked him off the apron into the cell. Sheamus targeted Orton's ribs including dropping him on the steel steps right on his ribs & even countering an attempted RKO with a knee into the ribs. Orton was able to recover with powerslaming Sheamus onto the steel steps & executing the hanging DDT from the apron onto the floor while Sheamus again focused on Orton's ribs using a chair & hitting Orton twice with the Crow Kick. Sheamus attempted a High Cross on the steps but Orton was able to counter with an RKO on the steel steps to finally prove he was the better man in what was definately the best match in their series.

Edge vs. Jack Swagger - We got a special bonus match here thanks to the computer we know as the "RAW General Manager." Swagger was in control early by working over Edge's midsection & being able to later counter the spear into a gutwrench powerbomb. Edge played the babyface here & not only busted Swagger's lip at one point but also did a baseball slide to the outside that accidently took out the cameraman. Eventhough the crowd was mostly dead for this one, it was a solid match.

John Cena vs. Wade Barrett - Either Nexus will disband or Cena will be forced to join the group but an extra stipulation was added in that if the Nexus touched Cena, Barrett would lose. Cena out grappled Barrett early before Nexus came down to the ring against the orders of Barrett who was clearly upset that they were there. As both men traded control, Nexus surrounded the ring before both RAW & SmackDown athletes chased them away keeping the match one on one. The crowd was split as they had dueling chants for both men when trading punches while Barrett was able to keep countering Cena's attempts at the Attitude Adjustment & even kicking out of it when Cena finally hit the move while Cena also kicked out of Barrett's Wasteland. Cena was in control when two mystery men (later revealed to be former NXT2 rookies Michael McGillicutty & Husky Harris) caused the distraction long enough for the result that had a bunch of the audience shocked & speechless.

Unified Divas Champion Michelle McCool vs. Natayla - This was pretty short & sweet with Natayla dominating & Layla constantly trying to get involved before finally saving the belt with a disqualification. The only thing noteworthy here was the unique way McCool was able to counter the sharpshooter with a heel hook but past that, this was only here to continue the feud.

Hell In A Cell Match: World Champion Kane vs. Undertaker - Taker came to the ring with the his recently reunited manager in Paul Bearer who stayed outside the cell. Both men started to brawl outside of the cell before getting into the cell with the ringside steps & a chair getting involved used such as Kane using both to work over Taker's leg while also dropkicking it & attacking it more to counter Taker's Old School. Taker gained control & was able to apply the Hell's Gate before Kane was able to escape the hold by exiting the ring but Taker didn't stop there with giving Kane both a chokeslam & powerbomb out of the corner at various points. Kane was able to tombstone Taker but unlike Night Of Champions, Taker had the energy to kick out which fustrated Kane causing him to knockout the referee. With the cell being opened for the referee to be taken out, Paul Bearer entered the cell only for Kane to stalk him into the ring where Taker regained the advantage & looked ready to put the finishing touches...before Paul Bearer was the deciding factor in Kane once again get another victory over Undertaker (in a way that came off very weak).

In the end, this really came off as an average PPV there was one match that I felt stole the show (U.S. Title match) while the top matches on the card were really good (both Hell In A Cell matches along with Cena/Barrett) but with others (Edge/Swagger) that was nothing special or a complete waste of time (Divas) but overall, it's a good PPV.

3.0 out of 5 stars WWE Hell in a Cell 2010 4 Oct 2010
By R. Marsiglia - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
This was a decent show from WWE that had an unfortunately horrible main event. As a whole, the wrestling on this show was very solid. Nothing blow away or particularly memorable, but still pretty good. The main event absolutely killed this show, and really left me with a poor taste in my mouth. Matches are rated out of 5 stars (*****).

1. U.S. Title Submissions Count Anywhere Triple Threat Match
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. John Morrison vs. the Miz

Aside from the absolutely absurd stipulation, and the fact that Morrison did not need to be added to this match at all, this was a very good opener. They brawled all over the place, and they used some nice submission moves. Crowd was very into this match as well. At one point, morrison jumped off the stage onto Bryan and Miz, which was insane. Finish came after Alex Riley interfered and took out Morrison, and then Bryan put Miz and the Lebell lock and made him submit. In my opinion, this was the best match of the night. ***1/4

2. WWE Championship Hell in a Cell Match
Randy Orton (c) vs. Sheamus

Very odd placement for this match. This was a good match as well, the only problem I had was that it felt like a normal pro wrestling match that just happened to be taking place inside a cell. That's WWE PG for ya. Psychology was good as Orton worked over Sheamus' arm. They based a lot of this match around the ring steps, and the finish came after Orton hit an RKO onto Sheamus onto the steps for the win. Good match, but it felt like it went a bit too long and didn't really need to be a Hell in a Cell match. ***

Alberto Del Rio then came out and tlaked about how great he was. Edge interrupted him, and continued his gimmick of trying to put an end to all things stupid. It's too bad he couldn't put an end to this segment. Jack Swagger then came out and beat up Edge because Edge had beat up his mascot on Smackdown, and the Raw G.M. computer made an impromtu match between the two

3. Edge vs. Jack Swagger

I enjoyed the ring work in this match, but the crowd was COMPLETELY dead. I mean, no noise at all, for anything. Swagger controlled most of the match, and then Edge pretty much hit a spear out of nowhere for the pin. Like I said there was some good stuff here and the match was solid but the crowd killed it. **1/2

4. Wade Barrett vs. John Cena (If Cena wins, Nexus disbands, if Cena loses, he joins Nexus)

Surprisingly good match. Nexus came out early on and stood at ringside, but eventually a bunch of WWE guys ran out and beat them up and made them leave. They had a very back and forth match, and both guys used some impressive moves that I've never seen before. Cena even hit a dropkick and a gutwrench suplex. Is it sad that this is a big deal? Anyway, there were a lot of near falls at the end, and both guys kicked out of each other's finishers. Barrett won after a "fan" jumped into the ring, which distracted the ref and Cena long enough for another "fan" to hit Cena with a pipe, and Barrett got the pin. Crowd was pretty shocked, hopefully this will make for some interesting TV and a possible Cena heel turn. ***

5. WWE Unified Divas' Championship Match
Michelle McCool (c) vs. Natayla

As far as WWE women's matches go, this was better than most. The finish was freaking awful, however, when Layla got McCool dq'd by throwing her shoe in the ring as McCool was about to tap to the sharpshooter. *3/4

6. World Heavyweight Championship Hell in a Cell Match
Kane (c) vs. Undertaker

This was an absolutely shockingly poor main event. Taker looked like he could barely move, and Kane was...well, Kane was Kane. Match went on FOREVER, as Kane worked Undertaker over with HOLDS. Kane was bleeding hard way from the top of his head. Thank god they didn't come out and fix him up. Match lasted almost 30 minutes, most of it amidst a horrifying amount of silence. The only time the crowd made any noise whatsoever was when the two were slugging each other, and they did the BOO YAY chants. It more came off like the crowd was just trying to entertain themselves. Kane took out a ref, and several refs had to come in and help him out. Instead of using this as an excuse to leave the Cell and do something interesting, Paul Bearer just came inside, and the other refs left and closed the door. Kane stalked Bearer around the ring, which looked awful because Bearer could barely move and Kane just had to slowly follow behind him. Taker hit a chokeslam on Kane, and then he posed and his blue entrance light filled the arena accompanied by lightning noises. I am not making this up. Paul Bearer then distracted Taker by opening the urn and shining its light in Takers eyes. Well, Undertaker did bury him in cement, I guess its only fair. He then handed the urn to Kane, who hit Undertaker, and then hit a chokeslam for the win. The crowd was not happy with any of this, and the whole thing just looked ungodly bad. Match was unspeakably terrible. 1/2*

This was not an awful show, but it was just another very average WWE show in a streak of seemingly endless average shows. Main event was atrocious, but the rest of the show was solid enough that this gets a 3 star rating. I do not recommend purchasing this. WWE needs to start making some pretty radical changes.
