Product Description Review

Rap meets raw combat in Wu-Tang Clan: Shaolin Style, a violent fighting game that plays a lot like a '70s kung-fu flick--with a little Mortal Kombat thrown in. Members of the rap group Wu-Tang Clan are present and ready to mix it up. RZA, GZA, Raekwon, Method Man--they're all here, each with his own special shaolin fighting abilities. The soundtrack, which is sure to score points with fans of the rappers, provides background music for battle arenas set in Staten Island, New York, and ancient China. Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style also features three new exclusive Wu-Tang tracks.

The cantankerous Wu-Tang Clan members meld perfectly into the video game world, and each character has some truly flashy moves. GZA wields a microphone on a chain-blade chord. Raekwon's specialty is cooking up opponents in a large boiling vat. Other members use a more traditional approach with swords and acrobatics.

Although the game is a little slow and repetitive at times, it's dripping with raw street style and attitude--which should be enough to keep Wu-Tang fans happy while appeasing fighting game fans in general. Up to four players can fight at once. (Parents should note that this is one of the more violent fighting games on the market.) --Bill Hutchens

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Having completed story mode with 4 out of the 9 characters, and come very close with the rest, I can honestly say that this game is difficult. It does require you to be extra quick, and mentally very agile.

The skin on my thumbs wore away after playing this game so much, but given that I am such a hardcore Wu-Tang fan, I'm probably the exception to the rule. the soundtrack is awesome, better than pretty much any other beat em up - ever.

Graphics - good, not the best, but the novelty of fighting as one of the Wu-Tang Clan more than makes up for that. The multiplayer is excellent, up to 4 players can whoop each other asses all day long on that thing, as well as team modes, as far as I can remember, the first game that would allow you to do so.

Novelties such as alternative costumes, with ODB coming in as Lecher the clown is pretty awesome. Other features such as Disco mode, and Super Turbo mode are pretty cool, but part and parcel of most games reflecting the late 90's.

All in all, an excellent game...the key to defeating the last two bosses is to breach their guard long distance, and while they are in mid air or just about to fall, hit them with combos, then withdraw, keep your gurard, and pick your moment again...and again..and again..etc etc...

Prepare yourself for the best four-player beat 'em up on the PS.A wicked rap soundtrack, hundreds of combos and outrageously brutal fatalities. This game also involves collecting special characters, game modes and arenas which you'll want for a multiplayer battle. It is worth buying a multitap and two more controllers just for this and believe me, you will NOT regret it!This is not as good as the mighty Tekken 3 and you soon get board on story mode, but it is still a satisfying game which is worth the asking price.

4.0 out of 5 stars A worthy purchase 6 Aug. 2000
with a distinct lack of decent fighting games around at the moment, this is probably one of your best bets. You would think it would be a dodgy knock up game to help the Wu's ever expanding supply of money! but NO it is well made and is challenging enough to keep you playing for hours. If you like the clan then this is a must, if you don't then........well buy it anyway!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game, sequel of Thrill Kill 11 Dec. 2010
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This is an excellent beat em up.

If you're still looking for Thrill Kill to own, that's impossible because the game was never finished however, they've included the same concept in this game just a little less violent than expected.
