One Wrong Turn deserves another. Acclaimed director Joe Lynch paints the screen red in this jump-out-of-your-seat sequel to the popular horror hit. Starring Erica Leerhsen (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and hardcore rock icon Henry Rollins (Feast), Wrong Turn 2 unleashes its deformed bunch of inbred cannibals on another set of unsuspecting individuals, resulting in a gory bloodbath. Six contestants led by the headstrong Nina Papas (Leerhsen) assemble in the desolate woodlands of West Virginia to take part in the latest US reality show. Over the next five days they must battle against the elements in a simulated wasteland to see who will emerge the ultimate survivor and pocket the $100,000 first prize. But the participants are soon fighting for survival in even deadlier game when they encounter a family of flesh-hungry mutants intent of having them for dinner...

Extras include:

• Commentaries

• More blood, more guts: The making of Wrong Turn 2

• On location with P-Nut

• Making gore look good

• Easter eggs

I can see there's some adverse reviews about this movie, but honestly, come on guys, what were you expecting, Hamlet? It's a reworking of the same story about mad cannibals running about the place grunting at each other and gnawing on human thigh bones. On that level it delivers. Same part of the world, same cannibals, just different city types getting munched, well obviously. This time it's a Big Brother type survival show set in the woods just after the nuclear bomb drops. I did laugh when one of the contestants finds a bit of meat roasting in the woods and decides to tuck in, yummy. Oh my god, it turns out not all of the ingredients on that stick and their relevant carbohydrate ratings have been clearly marked. In fact it's one of the other contestants!! Are Americans really that devoted to eating? Anyway, if you're a horror fan, this is well worth adding to your collection.

3)Wayne Robson is the only cast member to return from the first movie.
4)The cackling laughter from Three Finger is actually from director Joe Lynch, after unsuccessful attempts from the actor playing Three Finger prompted a last second ADR to get the voice similar to the character's trademark laugh in the first film.
5)The opening scene with Kimberly Caldwell was originally supposed to involve Eliza Dushku playing herself in a cameo.
6)The original script involved the two surviving characters of the first movie returning.

Hey all! I had low expectations what with the reality tv theme and all (We saw that in Halloween: Resurrection remember?) but I wanted to see the movie anyway b/c it had gotten some favourable reviews on other sites. Boy was I in for a fun ride! From start to finish this movie was action packed... The acting wasn't so bad, I actually thought it was pretty good. The plot wasn't too deep, but good enough. The violence and gore kept you on edge - In my opinion it was the "fun" horror gore, not the disturbing Saw-type gore. There's a difference! You also don't know who's going to live/die until the very end - It's hard to establish who the "main" character is until that point - Which sort of goes with their reality TV who-will-win? thing... Well worth renting if not buying... Check this one out! I gave this film 5 stars b/c it held up very well for a straight to DVD horror sequel (Look at I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer -- Horrible movie!). A cut above the rest!

Take a horrid collection of celebrity wannabees, dump them in a forest as part of a reality survival show and... oops! Did I forget to mention a family of hillbilly inbred mutants who live there? Any way mix well and massacre with loads of really top blood letting f/x. I'm a Celebrity Disembowel Me! It's all really good fun 'cos you want them all TO DIE! Enjoy.

Curiously watchable. The sort of film you could almost write a review on without actually seeing it as you instinctively know it's not going to push any boundaries in film making or horror and will invariably be heavily influenced by and derivative of much more original and superior films of its type.
Having said that what 'Wrong Turn 2' does it mostly does well. Quite gore laden, the characters weren't as irritating as they first appeared and in any case didn't hang around long enough to outstay their welcome. There was a back story about a survivalist reality tv show of which the cast of this film were participants or crew, providing an adequate excuse as to how they came to be in the heavily forested backwoods of West Virginia. The special effects team went to town on the prosthetics of the murderous inbred hillbillies, rendering them looking faintly ridiculous; but what they lacked in good dentistry and good looks they made up for with exceptional strength and being impervious to being struck by vehicles.
Some of the deaths were really quite good. I wavered quite a lot on WT2's merits whilst watching it but it is the type of film to sit back and let it wash over you, admiring the neat axe work, mincing machines and vat loads of blood on display. I watched one of the extras showing the planning of some of the slayings and it came across, as it did while watching the film, how much fun everyone seemed to be having. I look forward to seeing the commentary at some point with Henry Rollins who put in a good turn.
Not disimilar to and certainly no less brainless than 'Frontiers' a French horror that on average scores higher than this. If you liked the first Wrong Turn and more or less can guess what to expect with this you may like it; if you didn't like the first or have intelligence as a prerequisite for your horrors, best look elsewhere.
