Most Helpful Customer Reviews

4.0 out of 5 stars
An entertaining and useful introduction for aspiring writers,
By A Customer
This review is from: Writing for Magazines (Writing Handbooks) (Paperback)
Jill Dick is an experienced freelance journalist who writes interestingly and knowledgeably about how to write for magazines. Writing mainly for the novice writer, she gives hints and tips on how to generate ideas for articles, which markets to aim for, how to start your research, and much more. The style of writing is straightforward and her enthusiasm for the subject is infectious. I found the book very useful. The only caveat I have is that it was published in 1998, and so some of the information given may out of date. But then one of the most important jobs of any writer is to check the facts before you use them!
