This is the man who rediscovered the broad nib pen and techniques for its use. This is the man who taught Eric Gill (of Gill Sans fame). This is the book that is in the bibliography of every well respected book on lettering. This is the book every professional letterer should have on their book-shelf.
This is the bible of lettering. Buy two copies, as your first will wear out, you just keep on referring to it.

A book for the library 20 April 2009
By Tee
Format:Paperback
Great book by Edward Johnston, considered to be the father of modern calligraphy, I loved it.

There's lots of information in this book for those who wish to move on from basic calligraphy to intermediate or more advanced stuff. However, this book may prove a little daunting for a beginner. But I would nevertheless recommend it to anyone who is serious about calligraphy.
