4.0 out of 5 stars Slow Start But Worth The Money 31 May 2000
By H. Callaghan VINE™ VOICE

With a veritable multitude of writer's research aids being written almost exclusively for the American market, it was good to see this foray into British police procedure.

Though the history of the police force gives the book a slow start, the actual description of procedural, especially violent crime, was both fascinating and lucid. The best book of its kind I have so far been able to find.

5.0 out of 5 stars HMMMM.... 15 Feb 2010
By SCUBBS
....Mine's a pint, barman.
Because, folks, like most academic texts this is as dry as Hitler's missing gonad.
But that's not the point. As a reference for police procedure it does exactly what it says on the tin.
And bloody useful, I've found, in my career as an international jewel thief.
Can't fault it...well, no, I can; entertaining it ain't. But it does the biz.
