2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money, 10 July 2009
By A.N. Writer (London, UK) - See all my reviews
I bought the Writers and Artists Yearbook last year, and the Writers Handbook this year. In my opinion the W&A Yearbook is a far superior book to the Handbook. Why? Because the articles in the Handbook struck me as quite rushed, shallow and "filling space" - as opposed to the W&A Yearbook which has in-depth articles written by successful authors (the only people who should be giving advice). THe directories are the same in both books - so at the end of the day it comes down to the better articles and W&A Yearbook wins hands down.

This is the best resource for a freelance writer that I know about. It is very clear regarding what sort of titles the publishers produce and whether they take unsolicited manuscripts and other very useful information

I h ave got so used to using the WH over the years that it came as a shock (rather like an old friend who has h ad a facelift) to find a new format. Hard to get used to, hard to find my way around, hard to like. May buy the opposition next yeaar.
