4.0 out of 5 stars One for for the book shelves 5 Jan 2003
Format:Paperback
This book is well written, and contains lots of good ideas for direct marketing material. Clearly it's an update of an older version and some of it seems a bit dated, but much of the content is timeless.

The author has a strong preference for long direct mail letters which I am not sure people now have the patience to read, but other than that just rereading it occasionally will keep your
writing to the point.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must for any copywriter 9 Jan 2009
Format:Paperback
This is one of my favourite copywriting books. Bird is articulate, intelligent and thorough. The book is a joy to read, and one that I come back to over and over again.

He speaks from years of experience of copywriting. He draws on real-life examples (unlike some copywriting books) so you're seeing genuine sales letters that worked. That's the big difference with this book - it's relentlessly practical.

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learn from the best 8 Jan 2009
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Reading this book is the best way to learn about writing sales letters that sell. Easy to read and completely de-void of mindless twaddle. It really would take you a life time of graft to come to all off these conclusions off your own back. The lessons taught in this book will earn you a fortune.

Five stars.
