I bought this book after seeing the first edition's good reviews. It really helped because I was studying for a joint degree in a social science and Law which had totally different styles of writing expected. This book was a very good guide, helping to overcome writers block, procrastination and even tips of various reading techniques. I would recommend it to be used in conjunction with a subject specific writing guide.

Great book, but not the second edition as advertised..... Packaged well and in all other aspects was fine. Would have preferred the second edition, but will have to make do.

The author openned his salvo by saying that there was no way that you could read everything on a university course from the required reading list. I'd do yourself a favour and not bother with this one at all unless you are looking for a cure for insomnia. Recommended to us but a waste of money.
