I have a read a few of these. Most are forgettable with little real information or help given. This was actually a surprise. I wanted to make a business plan not for money or investor but for myself as something to have as a goal. This book actually mentions this up front as one of the reasons why people create BPs as well the major hurdles of a BP like Barriers to Entry, How you plan to Handle Competition and What your pricing strategy is. Of course alot of this is basic economics, BUT most of us have forgotten those "basics" and it's good that Mr Finch takes the time out to remind us of the fundamentals -- not only for starting our own business, but in dealing with other businesses as partners or suppliers i.e. what margin do you need from your inventory to be able to assemble or resell it? And because Finch is in the EU, he often brings up EU regulations that would impact you over there, but more and more as the US starts adopting those same regulations it gives us a heads up of what we should look for or expect in our scouting expeditions.

This is a solid book. Well written and full of information. If you want to make sure your business is on track for success, I think that this one would help get you there. The only other thing you need is to follow it.
