' A Nagging doubt' 25 Oct 2011
By keithy
Format:Paperback
'Sitting on the edge of his chair, wondering what the innocuous package could contain, he held it to his nose and then an ear - no 'give-away' odours or rattling. Little did he know that after just six days the very core of his existence would change - just from the secrets revealed in the mysterious parcel.'
"Just open the damn thing"
"All right, all right - patience, my sweetheart, patience."
"Well, what is it?"
"A book - a very special book... now I can finish my novel."
"What - you gonna be sittin' for even longer at that damn computer writting that bloomin' novel you're never gonna finish anyway!"
"I am, my love, I am." He wafted his way through the books pages. She slamed her way out of his life. His novel was never published, but the book was well worth it!'

One of the more inspiring 'Teach Yourself' titles - not only does it take you through a step-by-step guide to the must-haves in a novel, it throws light on the secret world of agents and publishers. An essential book if you're serious about writing for publication.

Then you need this book. Concise, sensible and well laid out, this "Teach Youself" covers all the major elements of writing a novel, giving sound advice and cautioning against common potential errors. After this, a section dealing with how to contact publishers and get your book in print tells you the essentials. This might not be the most detailed guide, but it's perfect for both a read-through & inspiration as well as handy reference when you do decide to start writing. And if you do, good luck!
