5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent introduction to England's most famous architect, 3 Dec 2000
By A Customer
Whinney's book has been around since 1971 but still provides one of the best introductions to one of the most interesting men in architectural history. Wren was a brilliant architect and scientist. Whinney tells the story of his life lucidly in easy flowing prose, selecting from his enormous output the most important buildings to highlight the many facets of his architectural approach. If you are only going to buy one book on this famous architect this is the one to have.
