This review is from: The Wrath of Aleister Crowley (Paperback)
If anybody thinks Mr. Crowley is out to exploit his situation purely for monetary gain, then look again. It would seem he has set out to offend most of his potential customer base. I have read the first two in the series and by this third book, things have hotted up. He seems to criticise Wiccans, Freemasons, the OTO, the Golden Dawn, New Agers, fanatical Christians, Homosexuals, Feminists, Animal Liberationist, vegetarians etc. He also takes a fairly incisive stab at the many 'experts' on Aleister Crowley, who have never met the man or merely 'rehashed' previously written accounts. Who is left to buy these books?
Mr Crowley also speaks on the apparent slander Aleister has endured since his death, puts his own case under honest scrutiny and gives a frank examination of what he considers to be Aleister Crowley's flaws. But is he just critical or is he trying to offer us a way out of the labyrinth? You must realise that this last book was written in 1994. It is nearly 15 years old now. If you look on the internet today you will find confirmation of how many of the pieces of the jigsaw add up, from corners as far as the 'Ashdown Forest incident' and the Montauk Project.
Beyond mere conspiracy theory, Mr Crowley shows how the tangled web has been spun over a long period of time, and by whom, and points to Western magic's purpose and place in 21st century spirituality; being more necessary now than ever.
