I feel I need to defend this little helicopter from the disappointing reviews.

It's designed to be an eductaional demonstrator of gyroscopic effect. Both the hand unit and the helicopter itself are very well made and extremely durable. When you first launch into the air, some trim adjustment is needed to stop the helicopter from rotating. This is simple to do using the arrow buttons on the remote, you can trim this out and helicopter will hover perfectly steady. The controls work well, with a very slight forward dip on the nose you can steer the helicopter left and right to fly it around the room. I wouldn't recommend outdoor flying though!

My 9 year old daughter got the hang of it within 3 or 4 five minute sessions(the battery last about 5-6 minutes between 20 minute charges).
Overall, i'm really impressed for the money. I need to buy myself one as my daughter won't let me get a look in!

Two micro-copters from the science museum were given to two boys (11yrs and 7yrs) at Christmas. They were great fun. You can direct them tuning with the buttons, it will always move the way the front is pointing. You just need to turn the front using the second control stick. It took my 11 yrs old an hour to master the directionality.

Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
I bought the microcopter and note that it is also sold in the Science Museum which indicates a reliable provenance. For the size it is, its perfomance is pretty astonishing although tricky to control and the transmitter levers are a little sticky in that they are not spring loaded and do not retrun to zero postion when released. However what is crucial is that within 10 minutes of use a connect buckle snapped or came off one rotor: end of perfromance until I find a replacemtn for this tiny piece of plastic. I cannot find on the web any address to apply for a new one. Are no spare parts possible as they are for other makes? If not then this is a poor purchase. Could the manufacturer or retailer please let me know or post something on the Amazon website possibly I wonder? NGGMICRO HELICOPTER
