Synopsis

Life has always gone Indigo Burns' way. She's smart, pretty, and talented, and she knows exactly what she wants. A photography internship at her hometown's local newspaper is the next step in her well-laid plans for her future. But her long-term goals are put to the test when her boyfriend Brian proposes - two years before he's supposed to and in front of all the guests at her college graduation party. Too concerned about his feelings to say no, she heartily agrees, but inside she's cringing. Indigo knows in her heart that she's not prepared to sacrifice her dreams to become Brian's wife - not before she has achieved any of them. Will she find the answers among family and friends in Jubilant, Texas? Or will the picture-perfect life she dreams of be left behind?

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent reads - both are worth a thousand words! 20 July 2009
By An Island Leo... - Published on Amazon.com

I just finished reading both "The Someday List" and "Worth a thousand words" and they were both enlightening! I loved the characters and how Ms. Adams speaks to the reader in the situations that a character faces. She included some great advice for marriages, for those who want to give their lives to the Lord and those who were true believers in what God can and will do if they have faith. Indigo truly listened to what God was putting on her heart, and followed it. She dealt with a lot over the summer but grew from it immensely. Thank you so much for such inspirational reads and I am waiting anxiously for the next one in the "Jubilant Soul" series! Keep up the good work and may God continue to bless you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth a Thousand Kudos! 24 Aug 2009
By Books and Beignets (BAB) Book Club - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Indigo Burns, a twenty-three year old recent college graduate, is on top of the world with a very bright future ahead of her! Life is wonderful for Indigo - she has a summer internship and graduate school beginning in the fall. However, a surprise marriage proposal from her boyfriend, Brian, may change all of Indigo's future plans. After the proposal, a fast downward spiral begins for both Indigo and Brian. Her plans to become a world class photographer and graduate student now hang in the balance.

Indigo is forced to make new decisions and find answers - marriage or career? Why the rush to get married? Indigo, however, is not the only one struggling to find answers. Her fiancé, Brian, is battling past demons that could tear the relationship apart. With the help of their families and their faith in God, both Indigo and Brian will try to make decisions that are right for them individually and as a couple. In the process, there will be huge price to pay.

It is interesting that "Indigo" (blue) is the color of a deep midnight sky. The color and word is often synonymous with wisdom and spiritual realization - similar to the character and her journey. Regardless of the best made plans - they are never designed to work out perfectly - nothing in life is easy. Author Stacy Hawkins Adams has written a top notch love story with just enough twists and turns to keep the reader turning each page to find out what the next secret or surprise will be. Add this one to your library!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Reading 20 Feb 2010

I enjoy reading Stacy Adams books. This one may not have been geared toward me though??? Seems like a lot of the book may have been edited or something. The plot got real deep and then kinda ended (my opinion). I was suprised at the abrupt ending after so much detail.

I will still buy her books . . I will keep this in my library. I may just have to re-read it with a different eye.

Can't wait to get her next book!
