Format: Paperback
AS a direct descendant of Charles Frederick Worth, this book holds a special interst for me. but for anyone interested in fashion, it is a good account of one of fashion's most unrecognised pioneers.First and foremost,it is the account of a very interesting life, from his humble beginnings in Lincoln, England, to the height of his fame working in France, designing dresses for the creme de la creme of European society. But it is also a very rare acknowledgement of the very important impact C.F.Worth had on the fashion world. In his day, he was rated alongside the Cartiers and Diors, but the Worth name has subsequently been forgotten by most. This book is here to set things right!
