5.0 out of 5 stars Please stand upside down on the draining board., 5 Oct 2001
This book is a collection of signs people have seen around the world. They include road signs, "CAUTION: Water on road during rain" warning labels on products, "Warning: Remove child before folding" (on a pushchair) and signs in shops, "Closed due to illness" (in a health food shop window).

I have seen this book cause people to collapse in fits of laughter, and it is advisable not to try reading a sign aloud to someone else, as you'll inevitably be reduced to a giggling mess before you've finished reading the sign.

Most of the funniest ones come from the bizarre imagery involved, for example a sign in an office staff room instructing staff who have finished their tea-breaks to "empty the teapot and stand upside down on the draining board."

There are over a hundred stupid signs in the book, and it is definitely worth buying!

3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointing, 18 Jan 2005

Whilst the entries are funny, I was expecting pictures of the signs. Instead they are put together with wacky fonts and crude clipart. If this doesn't bother you then you'll enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilariously funny, definately worth the money, 11 Nov 2003

This book will have you in fits of giggles whilst reading it, and you will want to read aloud most of those to anyone within earshot, although its probably better if they read them themselves, because some of them need to be seen to be appreciated. For the price it is, just add it on to your order, you wont notice the extra couple of pound, and it will have you laughing from start to finish. There are some very silly signs, and thankfully we can appreciate them. This book is fully illustrated too, very easy to read, and well worth it. Probably not a book you would pick up and read again, but something that could be passed round for others to enjoy!!
