4.0 out of 5 stars This needs a very good Dungeon Master to play correctly, 14 Jan 2009
You will need three things when playing this adventure
1. Alot of time
2. Dedicated players
3. A really good DM

There are many flaws in the Dungeon, maps that do not fit with room descriptions, room descriptions that contradict the room you have just left and a sheer amount of confusion all round. (let alone the spelling errors)

However if the DM has the time and patience to review each chapter to look for these inconsistancies and reword a few room descriptions they will go far. However bad these may seem however it has allowed me to use rooms which I did not like and change them to better suit my players.

The greatest thing is that the dungeon gives a great framework for players and DM to carry through their adventure. I came up with different puzzle rooms, traps and encounters and the layout of the area/ maps allows you to easily pick a room for them to be placed. As a pre written adventure it demands more work from the DM than you would normally expect.

The book is true to its name, over an inch thick and 8 poster sized maps (when buying second hand ensure the maps are supplied with it, its quite useless without them) It really is the a huge Dungeon. It has supplied my party with over a year of adventuring (once per week) and we are not even half way through.

One final note: the book was written for 3rd edition, however I have seen no problems in running encounters straight from the book with 3.5 characters. We only needed to reference the Monster manual occasionally for monsters/ spell like abilities that were updated in 3.5.
