We wanted a more eco-friendly option that would also be safer for our kitty's ageing respiratory system but still provide the clumping convenience of standard litter.
First impression: our cat is actually willing to use it! Win.
Second impression: holy cow, it actually clumps. Awesome.
We've been using this for several months in conjunction with one box of clay litter (our cat is old and fussy, and it's better to have multiple options than an odiferous gift on the bathroom floor...) and she prefers this most of the time. The pee spots do need to be allowed more time to dry a touch to clump properly, but do clump very well. The litter doesn't do much for odour control compared to unscented clay litter, but that's probably more noticeable because our cat refuses to cover her poo. ("Marvel, humans, at this glorious offering I have left for you!") It does require changing more frequently as otherwise the scent of urine can build up, even with clumped pee removed promptly several times a day.
Likewise, we've had no issues with our plumbing and the clumps dissolve upon hitting the water to flush away neatly, and our cat has been less wheezy. As a bonus, the bags are a lot lighter to carry up the stairs!
