This is definitely for the WoW fan. I haven't played in a few years, but it's still in the heart there. Huge amount and size of pages, very clear and good quality. A few things were missing for me that would have bumped it up to 5 stars, maybe peeps would disagree, who knows, maybe someone will feel the same.
I remember logging onto Blizzard's website and looking, or better put, salivating at some of the fan art. There were some fantastic, some inspiring, other hilarious renditions of everything we all loved about WoW. This book lacked that wow for WoW that left me going back to check in on some of the latest fan art. There were so many pieces that could have gone in it, I believe it was hard for the team to narrow it down. I have to say, much of the ones chosen were based around the same theme, or pose, or action...drawing style....I just feel so much was missing. Classic stuff. Memorable stuff. Most pieces seemed very serious, not all of course, but the majority. Another thing I thought was needed was the titling of each work. I love seeing the title the artist gives to a piece and try to understand where it was inspired from or led to. Since this was Wow, honestly, I would have loved character or server names just for fun...some guild names are hilarious...and I think that's what WoW was for me, more than just a fantasy game, more complex than just a plot, and not so easily summarized in illustrations. Great tribute, these are great artists, no major complaints from me, just reminiscing.
