Book Description

As the Cataclysm rips through Azeroth, Warchief Garrosh Hellscream orders the best warriors of the Horde to come forward and serve in a new army, lest their foes in the Alliance sense weakness and attack. We meet these warriors as they come forward - from very different lands, backgrounds, traditions...Will they be able to overcome their deep differences and work together to serve the Horde, especially when challenged by a powerful, unfamiliar race claiming to be the real rulers of Azeroth?

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth reading regardless of what faction to play. 22 Sept. 2014
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Blizzard entertainment hasn't done a very good job of its lore in world of warcraft in the last 5-6 years, much of it having bad plot contrivances, bad character development, and overall one mistake after another that never seems to get any better.

This novel however was worth buying. It took me back to a time when it felt like I actually cared about the horde and its characters in it, Focused on the unique characters in it and their stories, there was more a sense of what the horde should feel like in this book then in all the hundreds of man hours I've seen questing in world of warcraft. If there was one book that sums up what it means (or meant) to be horde, this book had it.

A pity it was a stand alone concept, but maybe its best it was, given ow badly blizzard writes wows lore nowadays.

2.0 out of 5 stars meh 11 Oct. 2013

For a World of Warcraft story it was fairly weak, especially when compared to the original WoW comic, Ashbringer, or Curse of the Worgen.
3.0 out of 5 stars A different way of telling Horde lore 25 Sept. 2013
By Robert E. Saylor - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This graphic novel explains some aspects of early Horde history. For me, it was difficult to read due to the way the author constantly jumps from one group of characters to another, and then back again. There are some inconsistencies in the drawings. But overall, it's okay if you like WoW lore.

I love the book and the "superfriends" group. The book shows the adventure of some characters first introduced on last pages of wow comics issue 4. I want more!
