Comments From Other Readers

“I enjoyed Volume 1 of this series, so I was looking forward to reading the second instalment. I was certainly not disappointed! Much like the first one, this is a top-notch collection of incredible acts of valor from the fighters of WWII. Any war or history buff would enjoy this book.” – Martha S. (Syracuse, USA)

“Great pack of stories. I appreciated the fact that the author chose to incorporate stories from multiple sides of World War II; not just the Allies. As he alludes to, there was bravery on both sides, and I enjoyed reading about one from a non-Allied force.” – Philip E. (Gloucester, UK)

“It was interesting to read of a Japanese-American hero in this book, especially given the racial prejudice against them during this time, as the book alluded to. I enjoyed reading about him giving everything he had for his country, even if it was cold toward his people while all of this was going on. His bravery and moral fiber should be doubly commended because of this.” – John M. (Philadelphia, USA)

5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive writing 27 Aug. 2014

History of World War II always inspires me to being a passionate history digger. I truly enjoy reading this short biography of brave soldiers. I liked so much how the book began with constructive start up narration and how this had caused some turned out events of several brave warriors's battle days that ultimately lead to the success of the war.

I completed this book in just one sitting and feel like that the writer was telling me the true story of World War II as a novel. I never miss the pace -- impressive. My belief -- you never get bored as it pertains so much useful content.

Ultimately, I suggest this book to anyone who want to have a good grip of World War 2 soldiers' contributions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of great stories! 24 Aug. 2014

This is such an interesting quick read, jam packed with lots of interesting stories from different perspectives!
I've been reading a lot of books by this author because all of these ebooks are very well written. Ryan Jenkins surely knows how to keep an audience wanting more.
A little background about me-- I have a very short attention span and didn't pay a lot of attention in history class when I was in school. This series is helping make up for that AND more. Now when I discuss World War 2 with anybody my age, I'm the one that seems like an expert. Plus my grandfather is loving my new found interest in the wars.
This particular book is very interesting and is written from a unique perspective. You read about peoples individual experiences from various different backgrounds. No ethnocentrism here! I think that's rare for a history book.
I would recommend this book to anybody- you are surely going to learn at least something new. It's a very interesting read and keeps you wanting more.
