Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Play as military and political leaders trying to lead the troops, fleets, diplomats and economy of their respective nations to victory, in the midst of some of the toughest operations during those four years of the €œWar to End All Wars".

Battle each year of the war individually via separate scenarios or complete the grand campaign covering the whole war from 1914 to 1918. Advanced scenarios will allow re-creation of the theatre campaigns. Also included are 'What-if' scenarios with alternative warplanes, which affect the course of events in the openings rounds of the summer of 1914 and allow alternative game play.

Fun:
This game was released in a state that probably should have had AGEOD charged with obtaining money by deception! Terrible product at first release.....(and believe me I've seen some bad ones!)....HOWEVER...thanks to some mega patching it is rapidly becoming a gem......give it a chance...download the latest patches and if you are an individual with a passion for history, a fascination for the interaction of great nations at the turn of the century, and a love of WW1 history aswell as someone who is willing to invest some time an effort for substantial reward...then this game will capture your imagination like few others.

For £10 you would be hard pushed to get a decent couple of pints and some crisps.....this game will last and last.....Go on...suprise yourself....how many other decent WW1 games are there?

NOW WITH THE RELEASE OF THE GOLD PATCH, finally it looks like the perseverance of the AGEOD team is bearing fruit......the game is begining to deliver on all the hype of 2008.

...what we now have with the Gold version is an absolute gem of a game......and one that I am increasingly enjoying playing....which for a game to hold the attention of a player like me, hardly the persistent sort given the sort of terrible initial versions and through all the disappointments of promised fixes must mean something.

I have to commend AGEOD for the dedication to delivering a class product EVENTUALLY....but I do feel a little vexed at the fact that it has cost me money to put right what should have been there at the start.

Having said this....the game must rank as the most intelligent simulation of WW1 ever produced ,and I for one am very grateful that such a long neglected era has finally got a game to relish.

BRAVO...et EN AVANT!

Awful 10 Dec 2008
Fun:
This game is indeed to be avoided. It's incredibly dated in spite of being made in the last year or two. Unintuitive, tedious and simply lacks any type of real immersion.

If you are looking for a well done WW1 game, buy Hearts of Iron Doomsday and install the WW1 mod.

Awful! 5 Jan 2009
Fun:
Considering this game was released this year and the high precedent set by similar games, such as Hearts of Iron, this game is absolutely pathetic.

It promises so much and has a brilliant idea of being the HOI for the World War one time frame, however it delivers nothing. Its slow, complicated and if it was possible to give out 0 stars in a rating this would achieve that.

The worst game i have ever played!
