  • Extensive scoring system, adding to the excitement and fun.
  • Custom setting of destination display during operations.
  • Opening doors to be seen from either inside or outside, controlled by the player
  • Doors can be openend seperately. Options are the doors on the right and left side of the train. Of course you can also open both sides at the same time.
  • Break Spark - Spaces in between the live rails can produce break sparks on the current collectors which can be seen as lightning flashes and which can also be heard. This is best to be seen in a tunnel as the tunnel walls will be lit for a split second when this happens.
  • Train vibration – as soon as the train starts moving, vibrations will take effect on the train.
  • Train swings – The train will start swinging the higher the speed. You will especially get this kind of feel in the cab. Hard braking will also produce this effect and the train will still be in a swinging motion when it has come to a full stop.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Future Of Train Simming Is Here 18 Oct 2008
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
While some might scoff at the idea of a train driving simulation, it is a fact along with flight sims this has become an exceedingly popular gaming genre - as witnessed by the popularity of MSTS and its peers. World of Subways (WOS) was developed by the same team (TML Studios) who created the Berlin Subway add-on for MSTS. However WOS is an all new standalone product, incorporating a new game engine and not compatible with any existing simulation.

WOS Volume 1 features the PATH rapid transit line linking New York and New Jersey. The first thing to strike me on loading the game is how advanced the graphics look compared to other train sims - the standard in WOS leaves them far behind and makes even the flawed EA/Kuju Rail Simulator released last year appear dated. The route has been drawn with incredible attention to detail from the grungy stained pipe and brickwork in the tunnel sections to the clutter and lineside features when the train is running at surface level.

Other features of WOS are of a quality to match the graphics. Sound effects are good though obviously electric traction is not going to generate any "stack talk". Stations have ambient sounds and one of your duties as driver is to make announcements during the course of the journey. Probably the only weak point of WOS is the train physics. Some work needs to be done on inertia for coasting and the effects of acceleration and braking - it is my understanding the developers are working on a patch for this aspect.

Where WOS scores even higher is with the gameplay. The entire PATH timetable is reproduced for the day. You can either select an individual run or elect to drive a shift.

5.0 out of 5 stars utterly stupendous 28 Jun 2009

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
i wish i could leave more stars for this game, it is the most fun i have had on a train sim for ages and ages, the whole thing is just great, driving the trains , putting out passenger messages and opening and closing doors is brilliant, maybe that just shows what a sad act i am (48 and still an annorack) but what the hell, i look forward to further volumes of this sim , i hope they do the london underground , mind the doors

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This is a well made product and well thought out.
You can't sleep on this game, (if you can call it a game).
The detail is fantastic.
Only one wish is that I'd would love to design my own layout.

4.0 out of 5 stars A New Type Of Train Sim 2 Mar 2009
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I have a lot of MSTS products and felt that a stand alone programme would be interesting.First it loaded no problem, secondly the graphics are beautiful and smooth. The motion of the train has a genuine feel to it.The extras like walking around the train or up the platform may amuse for a while but for me the most inovative aspect is where you drive a whole shift and get scored on your performance. You have to learn the route because although there is a route monitor like MSTS you get little advance warning of line speed changes. In all very clever, different, skill is needed and practice makes perfect-just one more run-i will get it right

3.0 out of 5 stars World of Subways Review: 2 Jan 2011
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
Thank your FOr Reading this Review Over all i would give this game around 3 out of 5 thats about average for me. This Game can get boring after a while and inoying when you have to keep adding things also this game is very temprememtle it takes around 20 mins to load and 15 mins to close and at the begging and end it starts to say not responding. but this is an ok game you get to choose your name - coaches and where you want to go in the subway. for more info visit there website
