excellent work 2 Jan 2004

i am an avid fan of burma. this book by maureen baird-murray is so genuine and truthful, it's definitely a masterpiece. its untouched beauty, culture and people, and timeless country itself left me captivated. sadly, given the country's current political situation, so much restriction and indefinite sufferings resulted. i felt very disturbed and at the same time, upset; but yet i wanted to know more about burma. maybe one day, i'll also be able to travel to burma again and write up a book as a traveller. this book is indubitably worth a very good read for now!

Love it 13 Feb 2012

I love, love, loooove this book, I'm mixed race so this book particularly interested me for this reason. The only thing I wish was that there was a follow up. It would have been really nice to know about her family life with husband and children. She seems like such a warm, beautiful, inspirational person. Would be great to know more about the life she set up for herself once she moved to the UK!!!! Thank you for writing and sharing this fantastic book with us Maureen. xxxx

Ps, so sweet that you were named after a hairbrush :)
