4.0 out of 5 stars Easy recipes 4 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A nice little cookery book sampler with 3 recipes from each country (Spain, Italy, France etc). Easy-to-follow recipes (including some illustrations) with British and American measures, easily obtainable ingredients and helpful tips. A good little book to have on your kindle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Have Kindle cookbook, will travel! 26 Aug. 2011
By WombleJ

We rent a villa in Spain for 6 weeks each winter so my Kindle is pre-loaded with lots of books and I decided to include a recipe book. This one is absolutely brilliant, it has recipes from around the world which are fun to try (and the Spanish section really gets a hammering for those 6 weeks, too). I really recommend this one for kitchen Kindle travellers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Short and sweet, a couple of intriguing recipes. 3 Nov. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I got this as a freebie, but it's not too expensive even at its list price.

There are twenty recipes drawn from four cuisines: Moroccan, Spanish, Italian and French.

The Moroccan recipes and perhaps the most interesting and unusual, but I like the fact there are both sweet and savoury recipes in each section.

Although the book says "optimised for larger screens", there's no problem reading the recipes, and while the photographs would undoubtedly look better in full colour, they work fine in black and white.

I can't see cookbooks on Kindle really catching on, unless they either invent a waterproof Kindle or Kindles become so cheap that having them sitting round a kitchen won't give the average Joe pause! There's also a potential issue turning pages with sticky fingers, though it is surprising how many of the recipes fit neatly on to one page if you have the font at a relatively small size, and sticky fingers are an issue for treebooks too. I think if I was going to use one of these recipes I'd have to write it out for myself rather than keep the device in the kitchen while I cooked.

Overall, I'm glad I picked this up as a freebie and will be keeping it, and 20 recipes for less than 80p doesn't seem like a bad deal, but not being a big cook myself I don't think I would have paid for it. If you're tempted by one of the bigger cookbooks either for a Kindle or in hard copy, then this would probably be a convenient and reasonably thrifty way to see what kind of things you would be likely to find in the books for the countries mentioned.
