If you like love and sentimental evergreens this compilation is just for you. Connie sings here twenty (it’s a pity that not more; it is like stop making love before getting satisfaction) soft tunes, just to listen when there are only two of you. Her voice creates fabulous atmosphere, if you don’t feel shudders while listening to the title phrase from “Love is a many splendoured thing” you won’t understand it. In my opinion, only country-style “I wish I had a wooden heart” and “Wayward wind” do not fit exactly the climate of this disc and introduce a little disturbance. The quality of recording is high, although sometimes bass seems to go out of control (e.g. audible deep ‘wow’ in “Moon river”).
“The World of Connie Francis” (actually it is not her entire world, but only the sea of love) could be even more wonderful if it contained such standards like “Around the world”, “Fascination”, “Harbour lights”, “I will wait for you”, “Kiss me goodbye”, “Somewhere my love”, “Too young” and many more. But this will probably require another disc. Waiting for more from Connie’s world enjoy this CD, it is worth the money you’ll spend on it on 100% !
